Seems to be the case with KL Rahul at least. In 8 Test innings so far, he has: 5 single digit scores 2 triple digit scores Only one double digit score, that too a lowly 16. Good part of that seems like once he gets past 20, he goes on to get a hundred.

Mukund, Akshath Reddy, a couple come close but exclude his Test matches and you'll find FC avg of nearly 60. His selection makes sense - whether he has the ability or not at the internationa level is a diff matter.

He played very solidly in his first test thought didn't score big but had looked confident.

Vijay too looked unconvincing when he first came in, now look at him !!![/quote'] Not every Indian cricketer will get to play CC - some Indian batsmen have deficiencies against swing bowling (see 2011 and 2013 tours for instance) but not bounce & pace. Besides, VJ didn't have to go play CC before his game got rectified.

Of Raman's 50s, I'm sure that some of them must have been at home.

Among the current lot i like the look of Sarfraz . He has this old fashioned batting approach. Hope he doesn't waste his talent. He could be our Vishwanath of modern era.

But he was never given a run of more than 3 tests at any time, which is a difficult chance to make use of.

He played a couple of tests in that tour and it was a disastrous tour for him. But it was terrible tour for India in general, not just for Raman. This tour had the infamous test where India were shot out for 100 and 66 in the first and second innings - Raman made a total of 1 run out of 11 balls in that test.

Yeah rate him highly , busy player & havent seen a young players that assured of his game in a while. Looks like a mix of Aravinda and Dhoni , so not sure how well he will do in Tests though

Even in the U19 days his scores came in difficult conditions , domestic as well Karnataka plays mostly on seamer friendly pitches to suite their medium pacers and he scores heavily .
