Sucked in SA ODIs, but we can let that go considering the preparation prior to the series but what about the game yesterday? Clueless as ever and a pathetic and ugly knock which sucked out all of our momentum which we had after the late wickets. Surely not our opener overseas. Either Rahane or an out of form Gambhir and Chand would fair better than him in that slot.

Can barely play swing to save his life and it din't swing a lot in WI.
Forever Indian Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 He needs to learn to rotate strike often like how Sehwag or Gambhir used to do, drop the ball near their shoes and run. If he starts doing that, everything will fall in place. He is just putting undue pressure on himself and Dhawan by not rotating strike. Agree that openers need to respect the new ball overseas, but then not getting singles off balls bowled at the body is only going to make you chase balls that are better left.

Bhuvi is also decent but he also need to be consistent support for shami.
