Herath was quite ordinary apart from that excellent 7-fer. Both the 4-fer and 3-fer in the 2nd and 3rd test were obtained when the Ind team was pursuing runs; I feel that there were a lot of lower order wkts in these two cases.

His transformation since the start of this year has been remarkable. Even though these are spin friendly conditions, getting a MOS in SriLanka is no easy achievement and that too for a guy who has been constantly taunted with his performance away from home. I believe in the last 5 test matches he has taken a 4fer or more every game. Really glad to see his improvement as a bowler, this series should also boost his confidence a lot which is important as i think South Africa in India will be a totally different challenge for him. Hope he goes on to bigger things from here, i expect him to become more like Kumble for us overseas which would be a great asset if that happens.
