FischerTal Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 (edited) @FischerTalIf you are fit and performing there is no reason for you to retire. Why should he? He averages 58 in last 3 years with SR of 91 with over 2200 runs. Now tell me why should he retire when we had players like Misbah playing till 40 before calling it a day. Dhoni for sure will retire in 2 years. As a great of the game we should at least give him that much respect. Your personal like and dislikes means nothing in the larger scheme of things.By those stats, you would think India won most of the Odis matches in that period, but the reality is something else. In fact I remember many dhoni fans criticizing sachin for scoring personal runs and not contributing to team wins. When the same argument is made against dhoni, we are just dhoni haters Edited October 14, 2015 by FischerTal
swatpulla Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Dhoni is still a world class ODI player. The problem was his transformation from a destructive batsman to a more calmer one. With his batting style, his batting order too should have changed, but sadly, it did not happen.
Laaloo Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Because "fans" don't deserve him. One failure while chasing even when he wasn't fit and other batsmen around him except Rohit crumbled, he took us one hit away but unfortunately could not finish it. That's all it took for "fans" to demand his retirement. So why should the same "fans" today celebrate this victory when if not for Dhoni, we would have lost having 25 overs to spare? People questioned whether he can bat anymore. Suggestions were to bring in A team players to replace him : He produced one of the best ODI knocks of recent times. People questioned Axar's selection over Mishra calling Axar another one of Dhoni's special friend, crony etc etc. Axar's bowling figures : 10-0-39-3. People questioned Mohit Sharma's selection : he took AB De Villiers' wicket. The fans deserve someone better. Quit with the melodrama. Afridi90 1
FischerTal Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 By stats even dhoni played very well. But we all know the story. He would tuk tuk his way when we needed boundaries, stay not out till the end and then hit boundaries after the match is over. Same way Jadeja feasted and took wickets after damage was already done and hit hitting prowess was nothing to write home about. Can only remember one match winning knock otherwise he would always choke. the amazing thing is most of these people would pounce on sachin and start talking about him as a selfish player when dhoni played like that for the most part in overseas tours.
Sidhoni Posted October 14, 2015 Author Posted October 14, 2015 The fans deserve someone better. Quit with the melodrama.Go ahead. Name someone better. :-)
Laaloo Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 (edited) Go ahead. Name someone better. :-) A better captain in Kohli for starters. A better batsman not yet but gotta give chances to the likes of Samson. Not saying Dhoni should be kicked out of the team but should be rid of his captaincy. Sidhoni Posted October 14, 2015 Author Posted October 14, 2015 A better captain in Kohli for startersI agree. The man who popularized his team mate's mother and sister in front of the world because of a runout.
kruiser Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 I agree. The man who popularized his team mate's mother and sister in front of the world because of a runout.Exactly, he will now think twice before running his mate out.

If the same bowlers failed , the argument would be that our bowlers have always been Shyte so what can dhoni do about it?

Ironhide Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 (edited) Dhoni saved his spot in the team by scoring 92 today but the end is near and he knows it, Dhoni will retire after making sure we lose 2016 T20 world cup, terrible T20I player. Edited October 14, 2015 by Ironhide FischerTal 1
adi B Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Dhoni chamchas out again after hiding 2-3 days after the kanpur defeat.where were you all hypocrites when he couldn't put bat to ball in the kanpur match when india desperately needed him to score!! Anyways I don't give a damn to his mindless, crazy supporters or the haters ,all I care is if he does his job and leads the team well in his most favorite format.Dhoni bounced back really well after the defeat in the last match and showed passion tonight ,that was good to see.he's a vital middle order batsman for us nowadays, none can replace him as a wkt keeper or as a batsman .he's doing a fine job as a consolidator but the problem is his hitting abilities have regressed a lot and so has his captaincy,he has far exceeded his sell out date as a captain Mosher 1

But quick runs, he will flop more than he will succeed.

In fact I am here today for this duration after few months. Yes he couldn't finish the Kanpur game, but the blame doesn't go solely to him. You say he couldn't score 11 off 6 but forget he kinda brought us there from 31 off 18 batting with the tail. Kohli and Raina were definitely bigger culprits. And if you noticed he wasn't fully fit towards the end.You call us mindless, crazy supporters, well some of the haters around here are also of the same category. I mean wanting him to retire after that last game? LOL.
MCcricket Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 For India to get better n rather then LEARN n process he should go, he has lost his mojo with the bat, n also captaincy ,was India's worst ever test captain who did serious damage to being a guy who did not care about winning .Yes an Odi champ as a keeper bat but these are flickers from a dying flame, his legacy is never building a team or grooming players, he just was lucky to arrive at the right time with Tendulkar n company n Zak at his prime. He is so obnoxious with his field placing, criticizing bowlers n only one way to play, bits n pieces players, trundlers, cut the runs, only worked on slow tracks, his record abroad is awful, he would have been chucked off as captain in most countries in tests within a year,Virat atleast wants to win, let Rohit be Odi capt n we have options the present selectors are as bad if not worse the Srikanth n co.Harbhajan ,Unadkunt, and so many worse selections, no method no planning n same with Dhoni.

cricketpitch Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 He should retire for sure. I agree, I am sure we have bradman's waiting in the wings and will start firing 100's from the first game. I hope Dhoni announces retirement tomorrow from ODI's, oh wait, then he will be called a quitter? Well he cannot win either ways.
