Few of them are interested in football, and few of them in kabbadi, some in hockey...badminton..little of tennis and more....cricket has taken the back-seat for few kids (not all of them)Am i looking at wrong sample or it's just the trend right now..BTW, i am from hyderabadBut one thing is for sure, this generation kids have lot of games to pick from....and india is moving in right direction Edited December 9, 2015 by gakgupta
Mosher Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Its true people are not as passionate about cricket(Test matches) as they were in the 90's. But t20 is still brings a lot of crowd. Football is becoming more and more popular among kids in metros. Cricket is still very popular in tier 2 cities and rural areas especially t20's. But test cricket is dying.

You will see plenty of people playing cricket like crazy. In small towns people have of grounds to play cricket. You won't see such things in cities because there are very few places to play cricket. I get following a sport possibly even cheering for a team but I'm talking about being a die hard. How can you be in love with a team who belongs to a country that were your oppressors, you've never been to or don't know of anyone being from there?

Today we get almost all kinda sports in TV but I am not sure this was possible in the 80s and 90s. People have too many options to spend their time rather than watch cricket whole day. I just can't sit in front of a TV whole freaking day. I get bored even watching T20s now a days.
