MK55 Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 We are going to lose the series anyways.Would have preferred to watch Aaron, Umesh and Ishant as bowlers with Aaron replacing Shami.Pandya as the all-rounder and Ashwin as the specialist spinner. Also, Dhawan needs to be dropped. Looks hopeless against the short ball just like Raina. Difference is being an opener, he gets some more opportunities to get a big score once in 10 matches. With the squad that we have got, I expect MS to drop Umesh and include Ishant. He'll probably cite the relatively higher economy rate of Umesh Vs BK in the last match. adi B 1

If Dhoni drops Umesh next match then it will be one more addition to the long list of dumb decisions that Dhoni has taken like playing Vinnie Koomar at Perth, playing Fat RP Singh in England and malnourished Unadkunt in SA. Umesh atleast looked like picking a wicket while BK has gone wicket-less in so many matches.

express bowling Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Yeah Bumrah would be a good pick. But I think Ishant or Sran will be staying back for the T20's.You are right. That is what will probably happen in practice. Sran has a higher chance because of his slower balls.
adi B Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Cant believe we played a guy who conceded 100+ in his last odi.if it was an odi in England,nzl or wi I'd have understood but he's no way gonna succeed in Australian conditions.The management,selectors knew shami and Pishant were unfit and they had bumrah who's in red hot form but what do they do? They pick booby !! Australia is the perfect place to pick knew raw pacers who have something unsual and pace ,bumrah,sran type bowlers but we are happy with rinse and repeat formula!! express bowling 1
adi B Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Brisbane is even worse for the spinners,they'll get massacred.Dhoni has to replace ashwin/jadeja with rishi if Pishant is injured.else it's a straightforward decision with Pishant coming in for ashwin .off course ashwin will be disappointed but we can always say he's injured or something like that (we have Done that before).You've gotta play 4 pacers in aus,it's as simple as that

GautiMaan Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 I like ur team Mosher.But i have little doubt that Dhoni will come out and say the usual we're playing with the same eleven,spinners are our strength,we dont have all rounders etc.The reluctance to try something different despite the set template failing repeatedly is truly astounding

vishalvirsingh Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 I read a Rohit interview in which he clearly said that there are serious discussions going on to play 4-1 combi for Brisbane.he also stated that Brisbane will be faster than perth and will give more assistance to pacers and hence India may go with 4-1 combi and Dhoni has to only confirm that.Knowing Shastri I am sure india will not make the mistake of going with 3-2 combi.

vishalvirsingh Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 4 pacers should be ishant umesh sran and BHUVI/Rishi.Bhuvi is definitely better than Rishi as a bowler and hence I wud play bhuvi in the second match.ashwin cud be the spinner.our batting is looking good and Australian bowling is not too dangerous so we can strengthen our bowling.
