Washington Sundar : He seems the most level headed player in the U19 team. He looks always calm composed  and has multi skills Batting & Bowling. Just 16 right now, i think he is one to look out in the future. Batting is elegant looking, bowling has more bite in it. He bowled some unplayable balls today & sri lankans were "bamboozled" by the spin & bounce. He is the unsung hero for me, has been doing his bit like Lomror but the credit goes to the likes of Pant ( looked idiotic today) & sarfaraz. Wanted to create a thread on him, since i'm sure he would be in the news soon enough..

He will be good in Test matches, better bowler and a decent batsman to me.

Prem Jyotish level predictions.

I would like to see his batting at 5 or 6 and how he goes with his business at that position. It is not a position where you have to hit always but anchor also. At the moment, it seems they are trying him just till Jadeja becomes available.

Why did Hooda bat ahead of him

because Hooda is considered a batting AR/batsman-who-bowls while Sundar in LOIs is seen (rightly or wrongly) as a bowling AR

That is the role he did for TN in the VH. He batted low down the order just ahead of Sharukh.  In the VH he bowled pretty much bowled his full quota in all the matches except in shortened matches. Both Chahal/Sundar did well. But i wanted Markhende to be in the mix. He is a decent bat too.

Mavi should have been in the mix. did well in VHT matches that I actually saw parts of. and he can field and bat.

Most definitely. He has this athletic build. Bowled full quota in almost all the matches.  But right now it seems like they are going to give Prasidh a run which is fair.  SInce Bumrah is always going to be no.1 choice they are just looking for 2nd and 3rd seamer choice.  Siraj/Prasidh are fighting it out since Thakur or Chahar will be the 3rd bowler.  Hope they include Kartik Tyagi is also in the mix. The way he executed those wide yorkers last season gives me hope that he can be a decent death bowler.  He also bowls well with new ball. ALso lands his yorkers very well.  Mavi is also another prospect they should consider. At this point these fringe bowlers are not going to be first choice back ups unless they produce breakthrough performances in any higher level. India A, National tournaments.

Batted down the order. Mostly to give company to Sharukh who did the finishing touch as you can see from the stats striking at 186. Average outing with just 1 fifty

SRK was brutal in VHT. and likes of Koushik and DK also scored rapidly. sundar was used somewhat up and down the order, which I think also hurt rhythm.

Yes. Short guys under 5 10 need to look into being pace bowling all rounders. Either that or work on your bounce/yorker by upping your pace to 135-145 and become and elite bowler.

Pace bowling all rounder at 8 and 9 is perfect for short guys. We can have a lambu or 2 lambus at 10 and 11 who have natural bounce. Bounce is way harder to deal with than raw pace.

Facing bounce at anything above 130 is difficult. Way harder than playing pace at even 140.

Mavi could bat quite well, but I have not seen him lately with the bat. not sure whether he has advanced, stayed the same, or regressed. but what I saw of his bowling in VHT, I have liked
