nsareen Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 Washington Sundar : He seems the most level headed player in the U19 team. He looks always calm composed and has multi skills Batting & Bowling. Just 16 right now, i think he is one to look out in the future. Batting is elegant looking, bowling has more bite in it. He bowled some unplayable balls today & sri lankans were "bamboozled" by the spin & bounce. He is the unsung hero for me, has been doing his bit like Lomror but the credit goes to the likes of Pant ( looked idiotic today) & sarfaraz. Wanted to create a thread on him, since i'm sure he would be in the news soon enough.. tweaker, BacktoCricaddict and Mosher 3
sandeep Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 Reports say Lomror injured? He's been a difference maker this tournament, India will miss him in the final if he doesn't play. What I saw of Anmolpreet, he looked really good. Came in at the fall of wicket with the ball doing a bit and batted well.
PBN Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 Yeah Washington, Anmol, and even Arman Jaffer have quietly made their impact while the likes of Pant and Sarfaraz have grabbed the headlines with their more attacking batting in this u19 WC.Washington, a really tall lad, reminds you of Yuvi with his array of shots . Interesting that he bowls right hand off spin being a leftie batsman. And he's only 16. Lot of potential in this u19 team. Expecting good things from these guys when they mature in the upcoming years. tweaker 1
CoverDrive Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 Really liked his bowling. Good control and a very effective straight ball.
express bowling Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 Liked his bowling better than his batting.
rkt.india Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 batting wise, he is only 16, so, he will get stronger. He, Lomror, and Ansari all 3 will probably play next WC too.
express bowling Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 (edited) I liked the way Armaan Jaffer batted. He was playing proper cricketing shots with a straight bat, hitting the ball very powerfully and trying to place the ball in the gaps. All very good qualities for international cricket success. Edited February 10, 2016 by express bowling
Debutant Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 Yeah a lot of things to like about this guy except perhaps his name His bowling was really good. He had nice loop and dip. Was getting good spin and not darting. His batting is also very good. Cool and calm.
adi B Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 Bowls a bit like ashwin,he's tall and gets good flight and dip,a busy batsman as well.can become a useful cricketer when he matures in 3-4 years time
Bigg Brother Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 Wasnt Sundar opening in few matches of tri series that was played before wc?
rkt.india Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 Wasnt Sundar opening in few matches of tri series that was played before wc?yes, he is an opener too.
BlueBee Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 What's great is his ability to rotate the strike. He 's very useful with the ball as well. Definitely has a good future ahead
GrandMasterSaxy Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 He will be good in Test matches, better bowler and a decent batsman to me.

nsareen Posted February 6, 2022 Author Posted February 6, 2022 well he is one of the calmer guys around [emoji3] as thought to be.. too bad he gets injured at important times, could have established himself as a proper all rounders by now.. time is with him, hopefully he fulfills the promise Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Vijy 1
vvvslaxman Posted February 6, 2022 Posted February 6, 2022 (edited) Here is another score card. Dhawans first under19 venture. India lost. But more Indians represented India from that batch than Pakistanis did for their pak team. https://www.espncricinfo.com/series/icc-under-19-world-cup-2003-04-125288/india-under-19s-vs-pakistan-under-19s-semi-final-330085/full-scorecard Edited February 6, 2022 by vvvslaxman
