Under Smith, they look a very different side. NZ fans was like that before the start of the test series, but at 'em now.

I simply don't think that they have it in them to beat the likes of India in India .. also beating Pakistan won't be that easy in these conditions for them.

Wait and watch.

I Have faith in India that they won't win all their league matches. So 2nd is most likely.

Do you have so much faith in Australia that they will finish 1st in that group? :hysterical:

Yes. I don't why I feel India won't finish first.

T20 is a format where anything can happen and the most strong team never ends up winning a long tournament like this.

Remember AUS where without Smith and Warner when we played them in the last two.

Anyways let's see how it all ends up.

Our grp will be the one to watch. Aus Ind Pak NZ Ban(likely).

I am not saying India will finish first either

LOL then who Pak? NZ? Or Bang?

It's either gonna be AUS or IND with Pak having an outside chance..

NZ in subcontinent will flunk.

India is going to win it easily. That's all I know. [emoji23]

On a serious note,

I think SL, SA, IND and PAK/NZ will be the four semifinalists.

SL definitely because of conditions and they always seem to do well in big tournaments.

I choose SA over England and Windies because their players are quite well used to the conditions and also because of their recent performance against England with AB back to form and Faf, Morris, De Kock doing well.

India definitely will be there without any doubt. No bias, we are the strongest t20 team right now (Rankings speak for it).

I think PAK has quite a good team but they will be tested in the Asia Cup. Gut says, NZ have an edge over Australia. It will be either PAK or NZ.

If recent matches are to go by, then I reckon SA, Eng and Aus will struggle. All their batsman look incompetent against decent spin in limited overs game.

If turners rolled out then:

For semis: Ind, Pak, SL, WI

From there, it's anyones cup.

If flat tracks (minimum 180+):

For semis: India, Aus, SA, WI

From there, it's anyones cup again.

Interesting! For predictions, I have the following criteria and assumptions:

* Playing conditions - Usually batting friendly tracks

* Teams - a) good bowling and fielding side + b) 2 to 3 in-form impact batsmen

From the top of my head,

Group 1:

* SA - On paper, SA appears to have all the boxes ticked. And at least in the group stages, the pressure of being knocked out would be less so if it plays to its potential, it should make it to the SF

* WI vs SL vs Eng - This will be a close one. If a couple of WI batsmen have a good tournament, it might win a few imp games. If Narine were playing, may be it would have strengthened WI a little bit more

Group 2

* Ind - Spinners + Strong batting + Home conditions = great chance of making it to the SF

* Aus vs NZ vs Pak - I would have given an edge to NZ, if Brendon McCullum were in the squad, . However, Aus with its line up of impact batsmen also has a good chance of making it to the semis. For Pak, it could be hard for it to beat 2 out of Aus, NZ and Ind so its entry could be more dependent on luck, someone having a great day, tracks, etc.

Keep Dreaming my friends

Its PAK VS SL Final = PAKISTAN the winner.

Group 1: 1st SL   2nd WI   3rd SA   4th ENG  (SA nyway chokers, ENG is not good for spinners, SL always good in major tournaments, WI is good in T20 Format)

Group 2: 1st PAK   2nd NZ    3rd IND   4th AUS   (PAK is the best team under these conditions, NZ sneaks through to semis, IND will realize their fake hype,  AUS can defend at home, how they survive at subcontinent?)

SEMI 1  SL vs NZ----> SL

SEM 2   PAL vs WI---> PAK

Final  PAK vs SL----> PAK :eyedance:

you forgot Bang and Afg.

So Pak bang Afg and WI semi-finalists , Pak vs bang finals where bang trash Pak and win WT20...

The OP asked you to predict the course of WT20 and not to write a script of some B-grade movie.

Eng and Aus for me are the best travellers amongst all. So both have a decent chance. And more over Aus will perform much better than NZ because 1) many have played IPL here before 2) no B.Mac. Not only his batting but his captaincy skills will be missed.

Don't think SA will choke anytime before the SFs so that makes it between SL and ENG for the last spot.

So :Aus-Ind and SA-ENG/SL.

Let's see.

Lol @people saying Australia will finish 1st.they'll get thrashed by india and Pakistan, nzl I don't know, even Bangladesh with their spinners will choke aus and might win against them. From our group I predict a tough 3 way fight between ind pak and nzl ,ind will lose to nzl (as always) pak will lose to ind and nzl will lose to pak lol. From the other group srl are confirmed to go through and I believe it'll be between windies and saf for the second spot, most likely windies

i will be surprised if even 50% of that happens

NZ does not have a team that can beat India in India. Aus does.

Three way fight b/w IND-AUS and Pak.

SA and SL/ENG in the second grp.

WI without pollard, bravo and sunil narine will have a tough task to qualify.

To me Our team looks the strongest at this point, n honestly i dnt rem any indian team so strong .

Only few concern wud be if one of the fast bolwers get injured m worried about the backup, yuvraj singh form.

But India for past many World tournaments have done well add home conditions , Long batting, gud death bowlers, all players in gud form is my top contendor to win the cup

Nz Sa eng will struggle when the ball spins and again they have a habbit of choking

t20 format suits Pak N WI and also their teams have always done well in India

Aus their bowling isnt that gr8 but their batting really full of firepower.

Bangladesh well they will do well.

SL i hve no expectation from them apart from a game or two

Hahaha where only IND could win and other teams were not used to that format. once they used IND was never able to come to semis except 2014. Thats why u like 2007 :two_thumbs_up:

It was the first such tournament....how can India be used to it?

And India(along with a few others) was not used to T20 at all leave alone this format.
