Mosher Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 (edited) Another story of an Indian fast bowler "a slinger" lost due to politics in domestic cricket. Didn't even get to play for his state team MP even after recommendations from Harbhajan, Chappell and Kiran More who were impressed by his bowling. He got selected for Cricket Club of IndiaXI for a 3 day match against the touring England team, where he picked up wickets of KP and Flintoff. But post that match again he didn't get selected by his home state. Now he is the leading bowler for Oman in this WT20.http://www.espncricinfo.com/icc-world-twenty20-2016/content/story/982007.html Edited March 13, 2016 by Mosher BlueBee, express bowling, Bigg Brother and 1 other 4
rkt.india Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 Yes, Munish Ansari. It was in 2006 when he played against England out of nowhere. He was considered to be quick.Sent from my MX5 using Tapatalk Rightarmfast and tweaker 2
rkt.india Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 Any video of him?Sent from my MX5 using Tapatalk
Silva Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 (edited) I saw his highlights vs ireland, He got two wickets with yorkers, and another wicket with a good bouncer. All top order wickets. Hard to believe the guy couldn't even get a domestic match even with the international team coach and head international selector pushing for him. MCcricket Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 I saw this guy bowl, action like Fidel Edwards, n easily bowls 136 n hurries the batter, so would easily be above 140 when young n its shocking he couldn't find a place in MP squad, no wonder we don't see fast bowling talent very often ,it is nepotism, in a land where you don't have too many 140 plus bowlers guys like Munis n Kamran get ignored but trundlers like Sandhu n Krishna Das get picked up who have no chance in succeeding at any level , another guy I fear is a genuine talent n will be ignored is Pawan Suyal from Delhi tweaker, express bowling and Mosher 3

Even now he bowls at a decent pace 133-138K. But his best years are behind him. It is really baffling that he couldn't even get selected in any Ranji team, teams which are packed with trundlers.

Silva Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 I think more than nepotism it must also may be because of an elitist mindset. I bet according to a lot of people who run these cricket associations a pace bowlers must above all else bowling the right line and length, even if they bowl at medium pace, even if they can't bowl yorkers or bouncers. That must be why India produce so many of the line and length medium pacers and the international selectors to their credit seem to reward faster bowlers even if they bowl such few matches because maybe they understand that faster bowlers aren't given much chances by the domestic associations. express bowling and tweaker 2

MK55 Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 Ansari's bowling now. Just bowled 140K in his 2nd ball. Not sure if it was a speed gun glitch but I think it was clocked at 146k. .
Mosher Posted March 13, 2016 Author Posted March 13, 2016 Not sure if it was a speed gun glitch but I think it was clocked at 146k. . That might have been a glitch. But he bowled another 140K ball in his first over. He is bowling around 135-140K today.
express bowling Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 Munish is a few days short of 34 .If he can bowl 140 k now ...we have missed out on another potential quick. tweaker 1
WC2011INDIA Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 Guess who got castrated today against Bangladesh?
Mosher Posted March 13, 2016 Author Posted March 13, 2016 Guess who got castrated today against Bangladesh? So??? Anyone can get hit in T20's. Performed well against the Dutch and got smashed against Bangladesh. But he is still the leading wicket taker for Oman in T20's. Doesn't make his story any less remarkable. express bowling 1

We will never know how good he could have been if he had played competitive FC cricket in India and had good coaching.
