Brilliant .... NZ would be playing BD at Kol and may be final too if it continues its good form so these two have more  opportunities to make more impact

What a night! Suddenly from we talking about India, Aus, SA being favorites, suddenly we are talking about NZ being favorites.

Because NZ is showing the intent - How it selected the squad, how it picked 11 as per conditions (no complaining), and ofc offering  tribute to Martin Crowe would be on the players mind as well so many of them may try to give their best

True, it spurred them to the World Cup Final last year. If India are gone by the end of this round, then it becomes a very open competition.

If I m not wrong, NZ does well in opening game and vs Ind

In 92 WC, it beat co host Aus in the opener. Iirc, Crowe hit a 100 and then opened the bowling with Patel

In 96 WC, it took out England with Astle scoring a 100

In 99 WC, it was BD so not counting it, in the next game beat Aus

And so on. But this time, the team is displaying intent. From the changes, it was obvious that it wanted to hit Ind hard

Well the biggest problem with NZ is Pakistan, several times it is Pakistan who defeated them when they were sailing through

well bowled, but also thumbs up to Corey Anderson, playing against his natural instincts to attack and just dug in and played a somewhat anchor role.

Santner was getting more turn than Jadeja and Ashwin too. Santner made Rohit, Raina and Dhoni look like amatuers.

Kiwi batsmen struggled too but managed to put bat to ball against spin but not like the indian batsmen who got beat every other ball from spinners (except Kohli).

Because the pitch got worse as the game progressed. Actually, Jadeja also got a lot of turn but was inaccurate.

I didn't understand that tactic employed by jadeja and dhoni, rather then taking wicket, they were bowling negative leg stump line to restict Corey anderson playing big shots. sometimes dhoni captaincy is

jadeja was looking for wickets.

Credit to NZ ..

But IMHO, what kind of idiot prepares this pitch for a World T20 game ..

Fair point, Pitch turned worse during the 2nd half.

Well if Dhoni had been the captain of NZ, he would have probably played a regular 11. And NZ may not have created such an impact

Because Dhoni sticks to a 11 irrespective of conditions, Ind do well when the conditions are ok. If the conditions are extreme, we get decimated as our team is neither here nor there
