Worrying Signs for India

While, there isn't much one can say about Kohli, it is worrying to see Indian team is so dependent on him to perform to actually compete or win a match especially when chasing. If he had got out yesterday, money would have been fairly and squarely on Pakistan.

Doesnt augur well for days. We are back to the 90s, it seems where Indian team was one man band.

Raina makes us one man down against any decent attack. Why is he in the team one wonders. Looks all over the place.

Based on Pakistan qualifying or not I guess apart from the match ups from both groups. Pakistan have declined to play in Mumbai at all costs.

Coming back to the concerns if Ind is knocked out, it would most likely be because of the 5th bowler combination which could be exposed by quality batting line ups. And the guys bowling the 5th bowler's overs haven't batted with confidence either

shreys iyer and manish pandey are immediate choices who can many times better than raina and dhawan....

In-fact i think Manish has matured so much that he can be second best batsmen after kohli.....All that maturity was shown in last ODI against Ozzie...

BTW Manish is a fabulous fielder....on par or better than raina

We need one more good , test quality batsman in the T20 lineup, to take care of conditions which are tough to bat in....,  Kohli can't do it every time.

Unfortunately rite now no other batsman in test lineup deserves a place in this line up

dhawan, rohit, raina consistency to fail under tough condition is really a worrying sign ,it really is a fear if kohli fails.

Our next two matches are on raod like pitches banglore n mohali where our so called culprits will get runs n then well forget the real prob.

For sake of indian cricket , not this tournament but in future as well these guys have top raise their game coz we cnt look for everyone replacement.

Raina replacemnt surely needs to be looked , cnt trust that guy on flat decks to. So much wrong with his technique

Need to look for guys with attitude more than talent, which for me has made kohli cut above rest.

Indian batting is overrated.

Not in test matches.... where we have Kohli, Rahane, Vijay and Pujara doing well in tough conditions and situations against good teams.

We are better in ODIs too. Kohli, Rahane and Dhoni can bat  in tough batting conditions.

T20 is a format for hacks as teams usually play on super-flat tracks. Big scores need to be piled up and good batsmen,  like Rahane, who cannot slog at will or improvise, have to be left out. When faced with a challenging pitch, most T20 teams will collapse due to this reason.

We need to find another good,  test quality batsman who can slog too if needed.

Raina and Dhawan need to perform.

Raina bats like a bunny against any decent quick. What's worrying is that I'm not even sure of his game against the spinners if the track offers some assistance to spin.

And everyone knows Dhawan is a FTB. I expect him to score some runs on flat decks. However more important would be him scoring runs at a strike rate of 150-200. Unlike Rohit, he can't keep up the tempo once the field restrictions are relaxed. His job should be to be score 45 off 25 balls and give us a good start on flat pitches. And if the track has got a bit for the bowlers just forget about him LOL

Lets not jump to conclusion so soon on manish pandey post one inning

Many player have come n played few gud innings and vanished, dhawan, rohit, raina are among who has played gud innings and yet are unrelaible.

The real challenge for a cricketer in int cricket is when opp finds out ur weakness and poses a challenge to u, thats were kohli worked on his  game time n again n has stayed ahead of bowlers

We need to try from a group of young batsmen and see who succeeds.

Those batters should be good quality batsmen as well as good stroke-players.

I will keep a keen eye on Jai Bista of Mumbai and see how he shapes up. He seems to have a decent technique and scores really fast. Let's see how he does on tough pitches.

Rohit , Dhawan and Raina  as well as untested batting of lower middle order of Pandya and Jadeja a big worry.

Wait a minute, thats almost 60% of the team. :)How are we going to win the reamining matches then.

still if you take Kohli out your team is not that hard to beat. Kohli gets bulk if your runs. Unless its a flat deck that is. Indian batting in 2011 was a lot stronger compared to this one.

Depends on the pitch. If the pitch is somewhat flat, it brings Rohit, Dhawan and Raina into the picture. So, it is not all Kohli as it may look.

Sydney T20I in January was primarily won by Raina and Yuvi. Had they failed there, we would have lost that game.

Yeah thats why I said "unless its a flat deck". From the looks of it Dhawan and Raina need a break from cricket. Got any good replacements for them? What happen to Sanju Samsung?

There is no such player.

There are good replacements available. Shreyas Iyer I have heard he is a good opener, perfect fit for openers. I still feel Raina will come good soon. Won't replace him.
