Ravi shastri: Its time That Virat should be Captain all formats

Better to have different captains for different formats. Same captain in all formats means too much power on a single person which is bad for the team.

Selectors may not rush Kohli into ODI, T20 captaincy

HIGHLIGHTS

1. There is a section in the selection committee who are against the idea of making Kohli captain of limited-overs formats.

The BCCI sources also revealed that Shastri had suggested to make Kohli captain of India in all formats during the South African series last year. But the selectors had overruled the team director's suggestion. Incidentally, it was right after the India-South Africa series that the selectors named Dhoni as the T20 captain till the World T20. When TOI tried to reach out to Shastri, he wasn't available for commen

Why does Dhoni still want to captain India, even after being a captain for 9+ years? Is there no physical and/or mental fatigue after being in such a stressful job for such a long time?

 

What are his goals for himself and for the team? What new/more/better can he provide as a leader to take this team forward that he hasn't done in the last few years?

 

Does a captain/coach have a shelf life? Does 2016 Dhoni has the same level of desire/energy/priorities as the 2011 Dhoni? 

 

Does Team India need a fresh captain, new ideas, a new approach to take it forward? Is someone ready and good enough to be the new captain? Or is it happy with the status quo?

 

Does Team India needs Dhoni's captaincy for its survival/betterment or does Dhoni needs India's captaincy for his survival/betterment?

Shastri's is regarded very highly by lots of international players, past and present.  Primarily because he is a very positive person and is a very good motivator. He has helped many young players too. 

 

He is not a big tactician but his understanding of cricket is not that bad either. He has a simple way of looking at things.

 

During his playing days he was one of the few batsmen who batted well against the West Indian quicks....opened the innings in test matches in the West indies and scored runs...and also gave back  verbally what he got  from the Aussies. Once , when he was playing in Australia, Mike Whitney, who was the 12th man, abused him. Shastri said, " If you could fuc*ing play as well as you can fuc*ing talk, you would not be the 12th man ".        Lots of interesting anecdotes are there regarding his aggression.

 

There was another incident in South Africa in 2000 or 2001 ......when a white match referee ( I think )  made a glaring decision against India. There was a big controversy and a press conference was held. The guy came and said " No comments ". Shastri raised his hand and said, " We all know how you look like...if you have nothing to say on this matter, why did you come ? "   

 

His support for Raina in tests was wrong....but everyone makes some mistakes.

He is international player who also happen to be comfortable in commentators box or when speaking on tele. However his stint in commentators box really has also exposed him. Allthough i feel that they all have been directed  by BCCI to praise few players but just Listen to Sunny G or Jaya or few others  and you will hear is, they are coming up with ideas or technical notes or strategic errors while in commentators box.

Very rarely I hear something from Shahtri which i cant make out watching the game.

Ravi s is wrong india not need kohli captain in all 3 format.most people in England wants Root to lead ODI and t20i [ ECB even left out root for t20i] COOK  test captain and Morgan in other format.

we need same pattern here.No need to removes MS

He might not have been good but Dhoni has been worse in last two years.
