We need to be patient with Amir, he has bowled well till now but hasn't bowled those freakish banana swing spells like he bowled in 2010. England batting on the other hand has never been the same since KP , Bell and Prior left. where is Jonathan Trott . I will put his name before prior and bell

(and yes ofcourse there r diff opinions at the same time too) that's because different people are posting.... Someone like me who likes amir come here and post when he does well and keeps quite when he doesnt do well.... Similarly, someone who hates Amir will keep quite when he does well and starts posting when he doesn't... It's not just with one player....same thing happens with DHONI, KOHLI, PUJARA and more
Rightarmfast Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 Pakistani bowling is hyped. No matter what Pakistanis think, they are average, and I wont even bet if they are better than Indian bowlers. But what I loved is, the way they are competing against English team. Its a good sign. And I for one, genuinely like Amir. I think he is a soft spoken, nice guy who just wants to prove himself on the cricketing field. He is more Indian than a Pakistani bowler of the past. Mosher 1

I dont think anyone opinion has changed .. I rated Amir much before he played the England series in 2010 & I still do ..Pak fans though cant see that when conditions are not in favour he looks pretty average , for a SC bowler those are not good signs . He only averages around ~30 inspite of playing all his games away from home ( only 3 of 15 in Asia/SC ) . That puts him somwhere in category Good to Very good ...not Great !!

jf1gp_1 Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 england has been hammering us in test both home and away so lets give some credit to this pak team
Asim Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 Indian Fab 3.5 vs Eng 2011 196 runs 319 runs an innings and 242 runs an innings and 8 runs Eng scored 700+, no prob! but Fab 3.5 were never able to cross 300+

No point taking stats from that series to build a case. You will experience it soon with mishab and younis both on last leg Adi_91 and express bowling 2
TheWall Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 Frankly..Aamir has disappointed until now in this series...
Adi_91 Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 @Asim The Fab 5 whose stats you have quoted were all in their last leg of their careers and the England tour was an aberration. I thought Indian cricket was over then, but I was wrong and we are fighting back now.
Temujin Khaghan Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 (edited) overrated players in england side - hales, vince, ali and ballance.. rest are all fine in the pak side - both openers, rahat ali are waste players middle order - azhar, younis, misbah and asad are decent - not to India's level but decent IMO keeper is good, needs to put a price on his wicket bowlers - amir, yasir, wahab are fine... so only 7 passengers in 22 players - which is allright. Based on actual performances and not just potential, England has 4 stand-out test players in Cook, Root, Anderson and Broad. Pakistan has 3 in Younus Khan, Misbah and Yasir Shah. Only one bowler there. England's problem is that they have too many mediocre batsmen apart from the 2 mentioned above. Pakistan's batting is usually inconsistent and often crumble under pressure. That is perhaps the case with this team too. Their bowling unit is too dependent on Yasir Shah to take wickets and if he doesn't then the opposition will pile up runs.

Thats the only player i would take from my above list... other than the 4 players - openers, rahat and wahab... rest are all fine... I wish we were playing pakistan team rather than west indies right now...
Temujin Khaghan Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 actually i almost agree with what OP said // Yasir is a class bowler and Amir is good. But rest of the bowling is avg. Similarly England batting is only about Cook and Root.Rest is quite avg. // Pak bowling and england batting is a little overhyped... especially pak bowling but england has two brilliant batsmen in cook and root and their lower middle order (6,7,8) is strong... because stokes, bairstow are good batsmen and woakes is able to manage well with some defensive batting... current england lower middle is stronger than ours bairstow, stokes, woakes > ashwin, saha, mishra but our top 5 is super class.. so... its allright... I am not complaining.. just pointing out :) tweaker 1
Rightarmfast Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 /\ Boss, Misbah is a class player! The guy bleeds for Pakistan. Did you see how he played when everybody around him was getting out? I liked this Asad guy too, who scored 39. He has the intent, looks like Moin Khan, Salim Malik kind of player to me. Whereas, I am highly disappointed with Amir. As it stands today, Pakistani bowling is not as good as Indian bowling. tweaker and express bowling 2
New guy Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 Compare the swing Anderson and co are getting compared to what the hyped Amir was Adi_91 and express bowling 2
