KL Rahul injury status?

I know it's weird to start a thread for knowing the injury status.....

I searched everywhere, i couldn't find the article on this...so i thought i will start one...

How bad is that tear? How long does it take to heal? will he be fit before the next series?

But ya it's surprising that he got injured so soon...I have a theory why certain players/athletes get injured eventhough they look fit..but i don't want to stir shit up...

Anyways, hoping he recovers on time for the next series.

How many times has been injured? Last time he was out  because of dengue .

Way to encourage a young player who improved his game tremendously in the recent past and did well in almost every chance given to him, without wasting the team's and team supporters' time unlike a few others, giving a solid option to solve one of Indian team's problem areas ie. the opening slot in all formats.

i am not wrong too often with identifying talent and with Rahul I will admit I was marginally wrong.

 

knew the kid had talent always to have a decent career,but thought he was missing that 'it' factor that would propel him to the world beater level but wrong on that front.

 

has it in him to make a big name on the world stage.

guess what Rahul is the closest I come to jumping on the bandwagon even though he has not done much yet but I feel it and I see big things..it is still risky as there is a chance I can fall flat for the first time...take this one to the bank....this one is a keeper...he is good...real good

Ben Stokes has two  5 wicket hauls in  44 test innings with an average of  37.6 bowling half the time in swing-friendly England.

 

He has only  3 centuries from 25 tests at an average of 33.2

 

He surely has potential but has not been that consistent so far although he has played 25 tests.

That is true for almost every decent cricket fan. I mean anybody who watches cricket properly can kind of judge the players after their first few games and most times the players careers turn out that way. But they don't go on trumpeting 'I told you so' and 'Cricket Acumen 101' BS. It's juvenile.

Ben Stokes - Almost everyone (including Aussie commentators) thought he had great potential after watching his 1st game. 

 

Steven Smith - I'll give this to you (if you show us a post of yours backing him as a batsman before be became successful). I don't think many thought he would be a successful batter.

 

Rohit Sharma (Tests) - So far he has failed. And didn't show enough signs that he'd be a very good test batsman. But you won't accept. You give bizarre excuses. You want the team to keep playing him, and when he gets a half-decent score you want to gloat 'I told you so'. 

 

Ishant Sharma - He is a good bowler only in your head. He's an average bowler at best, most on this forum or other cricket followers would say the same, but you won't accept. 70 tests for around 200 wickets, less than 3 wickets per match, average almost 37, economy 3.3, SR 66. Pathetic numbers which ever way you look at it. But hey those things don't matter much when the guy got his name on Lords Honours Board.

 

Rayudu - Average batsman. Many not outs, played a lot against weak oppositions, both not his fault but the high average has to to be taken in context. Low SR. Can't even get into our LOI team, which is struggling a bit in the middle order. But you won't accept that. "One of the fastest to 1000 ODI runs" ... again, in your head. There are 40+ batsmen who scored 1000 runs in less number of innings that Rayudu. Even if it's about time, Rayudu took almost 3 years to get to 1000 runs, 50+ batsmen got there in lesser time.

It's so apparent to almost *everyone* that Rahul has the potential to become a very good player in all formats. It's possible that he may not end up as a very good player, but there is a high chance he would. And if/when he does become a v good player, you'd add it to your 'accomplishments', gloat about your 'cricket acumen'. As I said before, utterly juvenile.

Another example is of  Vinod kambli, he has 1000 runs and avg above all our gr8s like sachin, gavaskar, dravid, sehwag, laxman....in test. 

True avgs are misleading many times.

Fair enough. One of the fastest among Indians to reach 1000 runs.

 

That article is slightly inaccurate though. He is the joint fourth fastest (along with Dhoni) just ahead of Sanju Manju . Kohli, Dhawan and Sidhu are the top 3.

Well its kind of hard to explain....

I think, too much of kohli's attitude has been rubbed on him and it could be that he is in temporary trans.In other words, he is mimicing. It is not his natural attitude. May not stay for ever.............

If he is doing what he has done for little longer period of time, then we can take it for granted
