Purely on performance who are the best young fast bowlers in Indian domestics

Express I do not see anything special with Shardul, he is performing at domestic level but doesn't seem to have anything which would make him successful at Int level, he bowls around Mohit Sharma pace n has a similar height, he is a trier but he is a level or two even below Shami n Umesh , selectors need to focus on building a pace attack not 3 similar bowlers n that too Shhardul the last in terms of skills n pace to Shami n Umesh.

We need to look at left armers, Aniket, Sangwan comes to mind and both are hit the deck n good pace n can extract seam n bounce also both have experience n a good action, Aniket being very tall n Sangwan is not short either.

Among bowlers who have a spark n can price out a batter thru pace n uniqueness, Nathu comes to mind

If you look at a all conditions bowler who has experience and can fit it is Pankaj , Ankit is another one who has experience ,stats, and potential

Indian selectors have been very poor in Identifying the right bowlers, Dhawal, Mohit, Swans, Unadkunt n long list of mediocre bowlers picked up but real deal ignored

The reasons why I  think that Thakur needs a look-in is because

 

1)  He ran through the South Africa side playing for BP XI on a flattish Indian track.  Dismissed the likes of Amla, Faf etc. and picked up many wickets.  He was also our highest wicket taker in the unofficial test series in Australia while playing for India A.

 

I am looking for wicket taking ability against good batsmen while picking our next seamer.

 

2)  He bowls good setups...pushes  batsmen back with bouncers and then pitches up.  I am looking for a seamer who can bowl to a plan and bowl good bouncers too.

 

Nathu Singh and Aniket Chaudhury are obviously 2 of  our best prospects...who combine pace and bounce with skills.... and I am looking forward to seeing them play for India in the next 12 months.

Shardul Thakur is the next pace bowler in line for a test debut.

With Ishant, Bhuvi, Shami and Umesh we finally have found a quartet who looks to be International class. Shami will be world class in the next year or so, dude has been brilliant so far. Umesh, Bhuvi and Ishant are good bowlers who can play according to the pitches. I liked our opening bowling duo in U19 World Cup so far, and have been hearing good reports about Nathu Singh so let's see what happens but ideally we need another pace bowler along with Shami who is consistent enough,

Umesh has improved but doesn't make the batsmen play too many times.

International captains and coaches typically tend to like seamers who have the ability to hit the deck hard and get some life out of the pitch....especially when there is no swing on offer.

 

Even regarding swing bowlers....when there is no swing on offer, or just to mix things up....ability to hit the deck hard on occasions is important.

 

We see top swing bowlers like Steyn, Anderson, Boult etc.....all basically swing bowlers....have the ability top hit the deck hard when needed. An old Anderson got Vijay out with a steep bouncer and bowled a couple of other good bouncers in that set-up too. Boult was bowling even 2 or 3 short rising deliveries, and hitting batsmen on the body on occasions, in some overs.

 

Among the uncapped seamers playing Ranji.....who are the seamers who are  (a)  Taking loads of wickets  (b) have the ability to hit the deck hard and extract life out of the pitch when the match situation demands it.

 

Among seamers who have the ability to hit the deck hard when required --

Shardul  Thakur was a top wicket-taker last season and in A team and BP XI matches. Totally out of form this season.

Nathu Singh took wickets in the Duleep Trophy.

Aniket Chaudhury has been a consistent performer in the last 2 years or more....even Ankit Rajpoot.

Amit Kuila and Md. Siraj are two debutants who have performed well this season and are said to have the ability to hit the deck hard.

Avesh Khan picked up loads of wickets in the u19 WC

 

What types of bowlers are Tushar Deshpande and K. Vignesh ?

Nathu Singh could develop into one. looking at him bowl...he tries to bowl to a plan and can swing the ball at pace.

Nathu has missed most games this season, perhaps due to some injury.

From the little I have watched Nathu, it seems to me like he bowls from wide of the crease like Ishant. Wide of the crease is a good angle to try for variations, but consistently bowling from that angle does not usually pay dividends.
