putrevus Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 More important and relevant stat would be the percentage of 150 plus scores in any batsmen's career. Bradman scored 18 150 plus knocks out 29 hundreds which is 62% a true match winner. Sehwag 14 150 plus scores out 23 hundred again shows how great he was for team India. Tendulkar only 20 150 plus scores out of 51 hundreds also says something about him. CricketBuffOne 1

Bradman and Sehwag had an incredible knack for scoring big hundreds. Both have an above 60% score when it comes to 150+ totals/total hundreds they scored. Even Lara & Sanga have a 50 or above score. Though Sachin's score is decent, I believe the kind of talent he had, he underutilized it as far as scoring big is concerned.

You create a video or edit this video with percentage with minimum of ten or twelve 150 plus scores, then we can weed out compilers to match winners. If you follow baseball you will fully understand the difference between a compiler and match winner. In base ball you need to win at least 300 games as pitcher to book your ticket to hall of fame but there are some players like Pedro Matrinez who walked into hall of fame on first ballot by winning just over 200 games. Some players have stats just because they have played for longer time and played more games than their peers but that does not make them better players than their peers.

Number of tests needed per 150+ score would be a better parameter. 150+ innings as a % of 100+ innings, may favour those who don't score 100s that often but cross 150+ very frequently after scoring 100s. We would find that Sehwag and Bradman are on top in this parameter as well. adi B, velu, putrevus and 1 other 4

Yeah no of 150s and 200s per test is a better parameter, against which opposition and also the strike rate at which thry were scored CricketBuffOne and express bowling 2
Cricketics Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 Sehwag was a genious in how many times he set up the game for India. Many people mention that he failed during crucial times when he clearly created those crucial moments for us during his special knocks in the same very game in the first innings. My personal favorite or the one I will always most remember would be the 195 at MCG on Boxing day. Hit on helmet early in the innings and then he came out all gun blazing. You can watch that innings all day and won't get bored. That was some attacking batting which Aussies weren't ready for, especially on their most awaited day of the year. sandeep and CricketBuffOne 2

Yeah right If Sachin had a lot of 200s to show for you would be the first on the bandwagon to say how he went on and on for big scores for his selfish agenda. CricketBuffOne 1

Has anyone accused Sehwag of being selfish for scoring big hundreds, nobody said Sachin was selfish in scoring 51 100s .The gripe is he did not score bigger 100s. Unfortunately, editing is not possible as the video is already up on YT. It will have to be a totally new video which I will have to plan. Sorry, have no understanding of baseball. Agree to your last point, but credit also needs to be given for longevity & hard work put in by a player to perform at the highest level for so long. After all, such players are a rare commodity.

Was an incredible knock...the guy had the audacity to go for the maximum even when nearing a double/triple...that habit cost him quite a few milestones. Guess, Sanath was the only other player who did that regularly. Cricketics 1

Sehwag and Hayden batting together opening would be one of the best opening pair one can ask for who would bat at a good strike rate and can be really destructive.
