express bowling Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 Bumrah has the ability to hit the deck hard and get bounce off length, along with seam movement. He is quite accurate too. These are great qualities to have for test pacers. Now that he is actually picking fifers, it is a big plus. The habit of picking actual wickets helps a lot in ultimate success. My only concern is....is he able to sustain his energy in the later parts of the day. We will get an idea in the Ranji finals. Mosher and tweaker 2

Mosher Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 Bumrah can be a good test bowler too but my concern is his fitness. After struggling for many years, India finally have a gem of a death bowler. Do we want to ruin that by playing him in all the formats? Indian team management needs to be smart about managing their bowling talents like the Aussies do. tweaker, Cricketics and express bowling 3

This is where Aussie won't have done much work on. They will be studying Jadeja and Ashwin all day all night for next few weeks. But there is a plus for a bowlers that they might surprise Aussies, as has been the case in the past too. Need fully fit Shami, the best Test bowler of India, to be available for all 4 games. tweaker 1
BeautifulGame Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 If we are playing 5 bowlers , Bumrah as a part of 4 seam attack is actually pretty sound option imo. Our biggest hurdle in recent years overseas has been the inability to dismiss lower order batsmen. With Bumrah could solve that issue for us with his Yorkers ,he could be a huge asset.Anything he could get against top order batsmen can even be considered bonus. But we cant afford that risk in a 3 man seam attack imo. tweaker 1
BeautifulGame Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 If we are touring Australia this would be my ideal bowling attack based on the bowlers we have . Shami Ishant Bumrah Pandya Ashwin The problem is this depends hugely on Pandya developing into a decent test all rounder and also wk being able to bat at 6. That's why we need to induct Pant into the team as quickly as possible. tweaker 1
