gakgupta Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 I have not seen him enough to comment. But 3 centuries is no mean achievement. India will loose their bowlers after a fantastic start to their careers and same applies to pak batmen as well.Real test will start now...
Sandeep99 Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 Good on the eye. This guy has technical glitches, but he has time to rectify it. However, he is a Pakistani batsman. So we will have to be careful in his assessment. Success gets to their heads quickly (Umar Akmal, Shehzad, Maqsood, Nasir Jamshed, et al). Pakistan need a batsman to replace Younis Khan quickly and looks like they found one potential candidate. Good for him. Let's see what the future holds for him.. Asim 1

jusarrived Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 He has the same technical issues as Umer Akmal had , though to a lesser extent . He will be a better ODI player than test player imo . A potential Pak great .
Asim Posted November 27, 2016 Author Posted November 27, 2016 Umer Akmal has more of temperament issues than technicals, Babaz Azam always looks to Build an inng and go long...
Dinx - the Jinx Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 That reminds me of some Indian player who got 3 consecutive test 100s. Good signs for Babar to finish with a life ban for match fixing... lol
Asim Posted January 12, 2017 Author Posted January 12, 2017 Got 886 ODI runs in 18 inngs... need 114 runs in 2 to break joint fastest to 1000 runs record of Viv, KP, Trott and DeKock, 3 inngs to equal them...

CoverDrive Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 Looks good player especially for ODIs As I understand he is from the Akmal clan only

Time is up for most of the dashers who can't play long in ODIs. Earlier hitters were considered special players and you could pick them just for ability to hit hard. Now almost all good players are good hitters, so no more leeway to sloggers in ODIs. Asim 1
sandeep Posted January 12, 2017 Posted January 12, 2017 So far, so good. He may do OK for a few more innings, but key test for Pak batsman is can they handle Sophomore syndrome - Once they play a good number of times and opposition has a chance to analyze him with videos etc. Can he make counter-adjustments to overcome the weaknesses once targeted? Pak in desperate need of decent batting in tests and ODIs, they may have found at least one serviceable player. Asim 1
Asim Posted January 19, 2017 Author Posted January 19, 2017 Babar equals fastest to 1000 runs record, in 21 inngs
Sajid_Rana Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 Equals world record of fastest 1000 ODI runs. The best part is not even a single played at home.
tweaker Posted January 19, 2017 Posted January 19, 2017 Babar Azam Hope he contines in this vein Asim 1
