I'm not voting as I don't know enough about the situation to make an informed vote. I just firmly believe that any match not played on a political basis in a league system like it will be should result in a loss of points for that series/match.

Since the basis is terrorist states terrorist activities there won't be any such deduction of points.

The womens game has basically been used as a trial for the league system, guess what rightfully happened when India refused to play Pakistan there?

That was because India failed to communicate ,they couldn't play Pakistan because of Govt decision .The BCCI in their mess failed to notify ICC of it.

When and if the ICC deems it safe to resume cricket in Pakistan, India should be required to resume cricketing ties.

That is idiotic .

ICC also deemed it safe for SriLanka to visit in 2009.And SriLankan players were nearly slaughtered .

It is upto to the country foreign ministry and boards to decide whether it is safe to tour a country or not.Not ICC .

well thats certainly a good example, if extraneous conditions beyond the boards control lead to non participation in a match, like for instance pak being a terrorist country and Indian govt not allowing sporting relations, and if it is communicate well in advance like it is in this case, thre wont be any points deducted and even if they are they are only points India will still win because the team is awesome.

lol ICC has no balls to say India should. ICC is a sport federation, Indian govt governs 1.2 billion people. ICC can ask BCCI to arrange a series with pak, its upto India to allow bcci to play or not.

That's funny because the only ICC source on the issue stated something along the lines of the BCCI not having acceptable reasons for not participating in a series.

Interestingly in hindsight not playing the series also most likely cost Indias women direct qualfication into the 2017 womens world cup. They'd have just needed to win the series (2-1) and they'd have qualified.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) failure to explain its stand of not playing against Pakistan has resulted in its team forfeiting three matches of the ICC Women’s Championship and as a result, they will now have to go through a qualifier in Sri Lanka to make it to the World Cup in England next summer. Due to the tense ties between the two neighbours, the BCCI has suspended bilateral cricketing relations with Pakistan, but according to the International Cricket Council (ICC), it failed to respond to the queries in this regard, leaving the world body with no option.

Any source actually directly from the ICC such as a verbal/writtten statement or a quote from someone? Because the official ICC statement makes it fairly clear that they were considering "written submissions from both the PCB and the BCCI" which would directly contradict the above surely?

So the BCCI issued a full written submission to the ICC on why they weren't playing but accidentally forgot to mention why they weren't playing...? Alternatively the ICC had been made aware of why India weren't agreeing to play and decided it wasn't satisfactory reasoning as the ICC sources suggest.

Accidentally ?Are u serious ?

One needs written permission from MEA before communicating their decision.

Let me rephrase. At a minimum, India should not be under any pressure / docked points for not playing Pakistan whilst Pakistan is considered unsafe by ICC.

Pakistan will offer UAE home series the point is India should not play them there as well. If PCB is the only board benefiting then India should not play them.

It starts to get a bit boring when the only way you can respond to nearly any facts I state or opinions I put forth by stating that I must be Pakistani for putting them forward...

What facts are you talking about ? India generates major part of the cricket revenue some state it to be 80 percent if that's true then it laughable to imagine that India can be forced to do anything lol play pakistan why would they. I would tell Pak board people etc Stop trying to get India to play your terrorist country , make ur own money have some self respect. It should not bother you cause you are a brit lol.

Whether you are brit or a paki doesnt matter.Indians simply dont want to play againist Pakistan and gift them millions.

They are a terror spreading country and are responsible for killing Indians.

ICC its daddy Manohar CA ECB no one can force BCCI to play.

If ICC doesnt want a repeat of the flogging it got in 2002 it would keep away from it.Else it will take less than 24hrs for the GOI to reissue the 2002 notification which make it mandatory for any company or individual taking Forex out of India to declare that not even a penny of that forex will flow to ICC.
