India will play 5 batsmen and hack Saha and Hardik.LOL.

Everyteam plays 4 bowlers in places like SA EnG NZ.Tests is no place for bits and pieces ARs.England learnt it in India.

5 bowlers wont play outside India unless we get a Patta where Hardik can hit a few.

And Jayant Yadav probably wont even make the squad.

Pitches are quite flat in Australia nowadays. In Eng,NZ and SA if they gift us with a green mumba 6th batsman

may come in except that Virat will continue with his 5 bowlers strategy specially with Ashwin who can score

runs anywhere.

Ashwin avgs in 20s and 10s in EnG and SA.Look up the stats before saying all this.As i said unless we get flat pattas at Melbourne or Sydney Hardik and co. Wont play.

The likes of Saha are sitting ducks outside Asia.

Saha scored a hundred in WI though. He's the best possible option right now.Guys rooting for Pant is tests

but I don't think it's a good idea atm.In a spicy pitch outside SC 6th batsman adds value depending on

whom we pick. We'll see how Nair fares given the opportunity.

Pant or Kishan at no.6 will still give the team something and they can play a 5th bowler. But with Saha there is no chance.Saha struggles the moment balls go higher than the waist.

Needs to tour with the A team in places like Eng,Aus,RSA before we can pick them for tests.

Imo if india used the 5 bowler strategy in durban playing ashwin and jadeja india could have won that test series. Their are certain grounds outside the subcontinent like the newlands and kingsmead where spinners have done a lot of damage. Harbajan nearly won a test series in SA for us after everyone wanted him to be dropped due to a string of bad performances on spinner friendly asian pitches. If the pitch looks like it will give any assistance to spinners india shouldnt hesitate to play ashwin and jaddu. And if it doesnt than you can simply swap jaddu for pandya and lose its balance.

the real issue is jaddu the batsman doesnt get enough respect. the guy avg 44 in first class with bat. i am sure he could be tried at 6 where he atleast gets some oppertunity to show his skills; after all he was brought into the team as an alrounder

That's the reason we need to develop a good pacer allrounder. Pandya and Shankar have been identified as potentials but both still need development, Pandya with both bat and ball and Shankar with the ball.

IF ur saying that with so much confidence well some overseas tours, ull be proven wrong

In Eng 2014, 1st match which drew and 2nd which we won both had bits n pieces binny.

in SL 2015, we again had binny who played a crucial role

in WI 2016, Again we played with 5 bowlers.

Kya respect? The guys a hack. How many more test innings do you need to see of him?

No, they wont. Pandya will play as the 5th bowler or 4th seamer overseas depending on the conditions if we play only 1 spinner and bat at 7. They are preparing him for that role.

Funny how you disagreed when I said I see Pandya as a 3rd/4th seamer in the Ind A thread. Here you stating the same

The approach was a mindset but not written in stone although the process of having, J Yadav, Ashwin, Jadeja, Pandya n now Shankar in the frame makes it plausible in home conditions as they have done n away as well as.

Vijay

Rahul

Pujara

Virat

Rahane

Ashwin.     Allrounder

Saha

Shankar/Pandya     Allrounder

Shami

Umesh

Ishant/ K Yadav

Will give them options to field a balanced team with 5 bowlers n 8 batters away n home as well

It is a comparision. You thought i was a Dhoni fanatic who will go berserk at that post.I am not.Now since you have been trapped now with a meaningless illogical comparision you are trying to wriggle out.

You even further trapped yourself when you replied to my 2nd post saying 13 tests are enough.

i said 13 tests are enough to judge whether a batsman can bat or not unless he is a young rookie. I didnt say 13 tests are enough to make someone great.

That was about warm-up game. Yes, he is a 3rd-4th seamer right now if he plays tests for India overseas. It is  important for him play as top 2 seamers in such warm-up games for his own progress. If you play as a 4th seamer, you do not have that many responsibilities because you are just a support bowler, but in a warm-up games or A tours when he plays as a 2nd seamer, bowls with the new ball, he has the responsibility to carry an attack and that is where he will have to take his game to the next level and try to become 2nd -3rd seamer even for Indian team and not stay just as a support 4th seamer.
