And Continuation of Low scores In deodhar Trophy 12, 20 and 6..He needs Time .If he is Gud enuf he will get in..
So Dont Jump the barrel on one odd innings of Flair and Hitting.. We don't want a pOllard who fails in 20 matchs
and plays in 1 innings

he played out of his position. He is an opener and should have been played there in one days and  T20s. and it was not a one inning. He scored close to 1000 runs in Ranji trophy at an SR of over 100.

So basically when the filed spreads out he finds it tough to score and holes out . May be he can be a top class opener , which is fine ..but if he struggles badly lowered down the order it kind off exposes his limitations as a batsmen .

All said hes still young so am not making an conclusions , but no need to give exuses for his failuers .

One shouldn't forget that kid is just 20 and learning process is still on, he owned over hyped mustafuss in IPL, the guy is fluent opener and many big things to offer us if only given a chance to highlight his talent

It is not excuse. A guy who batted all his age group cricket as an opener suddenly pushed down will always find it difficult to adjust more so in 50 over cricket than T20s, especially who is as inexperienced as him. Batting as an opener is different than batting in lower middle order. Even the great Tendulkar did not have the best of the times in middle order and it does not make him a limited batsman. It is about not being adjusted to the requirement of middle order slot straight way. It is still a learning curve for him and he might or not might get adjusted to that. Becasue not every batsman can do well at every spot.

Bloody delhi adm broke him by making him captain with maha egos in the team.

Bhajji is messing around with the batting order. Pant playing at 5-6 when he should open.

This reminds me of the story of Quinton De Kock...

Quinton De Kock put all bowlers on fire during his under 19 and was handpicked by Du Plesis and ABDV in the senior team based on his potential...

Guess what he did in his first 10 matches in all formats.. He FAILURED miserably BADLY.... But ABDV and DuPlesis kept faith in him match after match.. and look at him now

I see the exact same thing in Pant... Its the attitude, aggression, the impact innings..

When he score runs, he does it in a match winning ways... unlike lets say Puajara or Badrinath who usually play safer innings 85 of 125 balls in ODIs or 55 or 51 balls in T20... Compare that to the innnings of Pant...

I see Pant a better, stronger, more impactful batsman than Quinton De Kock.. I just hope Kohli does a ABDV and DuPlesis and show faith in him...

Qunton was 21 when such things happened. Pant is 19. Still needs a bit more time. Why are indians so keen to rush players, i don't understand.

Its not like we need Pant/Kishan urgently.

And what are you expecting really ? a 'debut at 19..great by 21....plays till 38 and smashes all wicketkeeper-batsman record forever to be number 1' ? That is not recipe for success, but recipe for failure more often than not.

Let him come along in the pro format itself. For now, we have Saha in tests and Dhoni in ODIs. One is doing very well so far, the other is an ATG  that isn't producing ATG performances anymore but still way above par for wk-batsman in ODIs.

I'd hope to see him debuting around 20-21 and playing limited amounts as Saha's understudy for another couple, before the time is right for a full-time transfer.

But Dhoni didn’t look like a chhota teddy bear when he came. He looked like a dashing, rampaging marauder. ;-)

Pant can't help it if he is cuter than Dhoni.:bebored:waisay...dhoni was much older  when he became famous .pant will trim down too.

True. Too fat for a 19-year-old keeper.

have even seen him recently?  This is a 3 week old pic. Check if he is still fat or not.
