PSB_Zone Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 (edited) Well just a month back he was rated so highly by many but look at his performance at domestic level tournament.. Guys take it easy , He is very young let him learn before taking him in international games... Take a note that he played on Flat tracks HE scored 99 against a minor opposition , Tripura in a flat track.. Rest 5 innings were all failures Edited March 7, 2017 by PSB_Zone sandeep, King Tendulkar and Rasgulla 3

BCCI Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 IPL beckons,if he has a good tournament,he should be selected for CT.Though its never gonna happen.
flat_wicket_bully Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 I will make my judgement abt him after this IPL. He is just 19 ffs
Forever Indian Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 The Best of the Best have lean patches and Tournaments, so what's the big deal? IPL is a long tournament and will be a better indication of where he stands.

CG Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 He needs to play few seasons and go to a tours to develop . Lord 1
Sidhoni Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 You should mention he has the added pressure of captaincy in a team where he has people like Gambhir, Dhawan as seniors rahulrulezz 1

King Tendulkar Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 Op is not criticising him just saying don't hype up expectations to high . Is a kid needs to learn and develop . Long way from findished article however , can't wait to see him in ipl . As basically not seen him play live . Hope he keeps sandeep 1

express bowling Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 Successes and failures, and learning how to handle both, are all parts of the learning process of every good player. Very natural and nothing to worry about. Mosher, rahulrulezz and Laaloo 3

Quinton De Kock put all bowlers on fire during his under 19 and was handpicked by Du Plesis and ABDV in the senior team based on his potential... Guess what he did in his first 10 matches in all formats.. He FAILURED miserably BADLY.... But ABDV and DuPlesis kept faith in him match after match.. and look at him now I see the exact same thing in Pant... Its the attitude, aggression, the impact innings.. When he score runs, he does it in a match winning ways... unlike lets say Puajara or Badrinath who usually play safer innings 85 of 125 balls in ODIs or 55 or 51 balls in T20... Compare that to the innnings of Pant... I see Pant a better, stronger, more impactful batsman than Quinton De Kock.. I just hope Kohli does a ABDV and DuPlesis and show faith in him... I am a big fan of Gambhir but definitely its not easy to handle his personality.

He would probably remind him his averages if Pant suggested some game plan to him.
Pollack Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 (edited) Pant is not hyped just because he is having great stats but the way he bats. In last IPL he faced mustafizur with ease.Even when you look him batting you can be sure about kid's skills. Those who follow cricket passionately(most icfers here) rather than casually can easily identify special talent than ordinary ones. There would be series where he would fail and other where he wouldn't. What is the big deal here? Edited March 7, 2017 by Pollack Mosher, New guy, Laaloo and 3 others 6
