  1. 1. Should BCCI send the team to Champions trophy?

    • Yes, Opting out isn't the solution. BCCI deserves its share but we shouldn't opt out.
    • No, do not send the team.

I feel BCCI and some Indian fans are being too arrogant. If we aren't getting a big share from ICC, doesn't mean we should not send the Indian team.

Thats not the way to win this battle. Yes we deserve a bigger share but not sending team isn't the right way to respond.

The meeting is done and no one agrees with our proposal and we have lost the battle by 8-2 voting. This means majority do not agree with us.

You think it is time to accept and move on or you think it is time to still not send teams and continue to show arrogance?

Indian fans keep saying world cricket can't continue without BCCI and India, well it could be somewhat true but it continued before also when BCCi werent superpower.

Is it time to accept the reality instead of asking to not participate in champions trophy?

Fans are right to be upset.  But its time to go to the mattresses - in a smart calculated Michael Corleone way - not in the hot-headed Sonny Corleone way.   Not much can be gained by opting out of the Champions trophy.  So India should participate.  BUT, there is no harm in bluffing a boycott for quite some time.  A long-term strategy needs to be mapped out.   This is a long game, not a one-off.

Exactly, fine to be pissed, but move on.

We shouldn't skip the tournament at any cost. This is bad for cricket. We have to play every ICC tournament. No two ways about it.

The majority could tomorrow agree to pay India $1 and let go. Does that mean India has to accept it? It's a process of bargaining and it requires to show the worst case to the opposition.

BCCI should announce that if this deal doesnt go through, not only are we not going to participate in CT, we are also pulling out of ICC altogether, with a six month IPL window.

If top players are getting 5 million dollars for an 8 week IPL window, then a six month IPL window should see the likes of Steve Smith, Ben Stokes or ABDV make 15-20 million bucks. That makes it 'either IPL or national duty'. Lets see how long the ICC resists BCCI then.

Well BCCi can handle differently. Pay sponsors to back out from the tournament and show their effect on the tournament and still participate in the tournament.

Sponsors backing out through BCCi will also have impact on cash prizes etc, amd BCCi can then solve the latter with ICC too. Not sending the team isn't the solution.

I didn't understand the proposal completely.

That's not realistic.  IPL can't go from 8 weeks to 6 months overnight.  It would have be a lot gradual than that.  Expansion is inevitable - everyone in cricket knows it already.

No crazy emotional instant boycotts.  Need a more coherent well thought out plan than that.

No point whining. Act like you have balls and slowly shut off the money taps. I wouldn't even bother bluffing. Goras and their underlings made their beds and must now sleep in them.

IPL is no longer the future of cricket, It is the reality.

It is, but cricke tis a religion right for India and Indians? Then we going to treat it like this to our religion by not sending our team for little money?

Like I said, BCCi deserves its money but backing out from CT isn't the way. Backstab ICC in a different way like converting sponsors etc but not by not going to CT.

BCCi can make some deal with sponsors and tell them to not sponsor the tournament like 2019 wc etc And ICC can realize that until they pay BCCi its share, sponsors won't show up for the tournaments. ICC needs sponsors so BCCi can have a case that way.

Its not about money, It is about power. If bunch of poodles think they can push India around as if it is 1857, they have another thing coming.

We still have power man. Ypu think we don't? Nothing is going to happen as long as we have our share.

What power do you exactly want anyways in world cricket now? Would love to hear.

The longer we host IPl, people will start to lose interest and people in India will stop coming to the grounds as not every one has money growing in their backyard to go and pay for tickets to every game.

This current IPl set up is good. We can't have more home cricket than this.

Not been following this much. What causes does this money go to? Which countries are benefitting?

TL;DR version is - big 3 financial model is scrapped - India's share cut from $570 mm to $290 mm - CA's share stays the same, ECB drops by about 10-12 mm. But ECB excluded earnings from World cup 2019 and Champions trophy when calculating its share.  A few million each were distributed to the likes of SL, WI, NZ, SA to buy their votes.
