Will the scheduling of this SL series cost us in Africa?

Recommended Posts

Was this series part of the FTP?  Who is to blame for this poor scheduling? Ideally our players needed rest for a month and atleast two practice matches in SA to acclimatise to the conditions there. This was our best chance to beat SA in SA in a test series and it looks like we will have a tired and underprepared team for that series. What do icfers think?

Dont think so. There's a huge demand for cricket in India, so having 1 month gap doesn't really make sense. Although the main players can be rested for the youngsters.

There may be a demand no doubt but some like kohli have been playing cricket non stop across all formats and it would not be ideal to prepare for a tough overseas tour. We should have played only a second XI against SL in all formats so that the main squad of 15 have ample time to prepare.

Agree. But SL had to be rewarded for thier support to BCCI in the ICC vote.

Nope, it's ok, need to white wash SL, extend that no1 margin, incase of any walloping in overseas series that extra home margins will come handy to remain in top 3 to 4

Also good opportunity to give one new quick bowler an an extended run, rest Shami...Shami is way to critical for SA tour
