Another gem from cricinfo Guru: "MSD is the only bankable batsman in the country who can play with tailenders. That is why his role is very important in WC2019." Well, we might be about to find out how true that still is"

Even dhoni must be laughing at these bozos

Arey dk needs a few more opportunities and at no 5 not no 4 ,Rahul needs to given a run at 3 . Pant and Kishan should be given opportunity ,forget about it ,when even Rahul is getting dropped after every single failure, this team is turning toxic even to watch

Kohli ne jahgir banake ke rakh diya hai, Dhoni being the TT guard.

Misbah was no great ODI bat but I feel people compare him to current Dhoni without taking context into the equation.

Whenever Misbah used to come to the crease, the scorecard would be 20-3 or 30-3 with brainless middle order batsmen like Akmal, Maqsood, etc.

Moreover, in Misbah's period, pitches wasn't this bad (post 2015 WC, pitches world over have become even worse). Plus Pakistan could defend 250 score because they had 3 spinners (Ajmal, Hafeez, Afridi - albeit 2 of them chuckers) and a couple of pacers doing well. So Misbah's slow approach wasn't as hopeless as Dhoni's approach.

This isn't to say Misbah would have scored at 90 SR had Pakistan had better batters but atleast for his time, his approach wasn't as hopelessly bad as Dhoni's is for India in recent times.

I agree, but what it did was it created an environment where it was okay to defend every ball and take a super cautious approach approach where the team score would be 20 runs in 10 overs with no wickets. Then they would try to force hit and the score would be 30-3......then Misbah would come in with his slow approach....

Atleast Indian openers still play there natural game and can score 100 in 20 overs easily until dhoni comes in. To be honest Dhoni should be coming in lower in the order.

Absolutely embarassing stuff from India.

Get ready for an inept, limp performance in the test matches, exactly like we've got the last few tours. These guys are spineless. Absolutely no intent.

Bhaji nails it "Why bowl the ball wide when the batsman isn't even looking to score?"

Can't hack it on tough pitches. This is not ipl. He struggled on patta against wi

he has potential and is very young. No point going with guys who are only gonna get worse. And it's not like Dhoni was ever good on tough pitches. Not even at his peak.

Yes but I think it was more due to inability.

Ahmed Shehzad, Hafeez and Azhar Ali...what more can you expect from them.

Atleast Hafeez can bash minnows well but the other 2 were just hopeless (barring the SA series where Shehzad played a good role).

Misbah as a captain could have done a LOT more by trying a few other players.

What has DK ever done in international ODI's to justify his selection? Even in his comeback year of 2017, DK has a strike rate of 70 . That is very poor. Pant is the future and it is to embrace that.

We have tons better than whoever that is thing is they will never get an opportunity ,just look at India a tour on England and you will know.Selections are the issue here

This situation absolutely suits Dhoni. He can play at his “own pace” with tailenders... Can’t be blamed as there was no “support” to him...

Basically he can not be a support to others. He does needs support from others...

Basically Dadu on crutches...

Well he has been carrying drinks for the whole tour it's unfair to drop after one opportunity

But as a captain, even if Misbah brought in new players he would have instructed them to keep it slow during the first 10 overs. That was his gameplan EVERY game. We saw that change up when Afridi took over for a short span of time, talking about the mindset not the ability.

That's how you saw it ,can't help you with that.

He is not the best against pace but he is good enough, and can be lethal against spin but we never use him the way he should be just like today.
