Dale Steyn declares England as phoney No 1 Test side

This deserves a separate topic. Something which has potential to go on couple of pages at least w/o Sachin's support.
Agree. I think test cricket quality was not as good as it is talked about in those days, only one good team and others were average to poor.

wat if England lose next test too?how many points they end up
113 pointsif they lose the next one too.if they manage to draw it then they will have 114 points however if they win it which is unlikely then they will rtain the no.1 spot on decimal points as both SA & ENG(SA-II) will have 116 points.

South africa deserves to be number 1...They plays well in subcontinent also..
They are more like Away track bullies, they hardly win series' at home against top sides. :giggle: Drew against Aus, England, India and also lost a test to SL for the first time ever last year.

In the current cycle, they have only beaten WI and the Kiwis outside home, drew a blank vs Pakistan, drew vs India, haven't toured SA for ages after being whitewashed last time in 2006. They did beat Aus and Eng in 2008 but that helped them become the number 1 back in 2009 and would not help them much now.

With other teams weaking up due to transition' date=' per Sir Ian Bothan and co, Eng was suppose to march ahead and dominate .... what happened :dontknow:[/quote'] A case of enjoying limelight before it's snatched, poor feckers didn't even get to "march ahead" for at least a year. At least we can enjoy the World Cup for four years regardless of what happens:hysterical: When their home season begins in June at Lords they will back in their usual place..."it's only the Ashes that matter".
