Why are there only 3 pure bowlers and Pandya on this flat deck? There should have been one more bowler for sure. Now the likes of Herwardkar, Shreyas Iyer and Panchal are being bowled. What poor selection...

Cheap idea by BCCI to play them against mediacore bowling in the practice game

Looks like the Aussies are not being given much  practice against spin.   Even the pitch has a bit of green tinge.       :phehe:

Don't think that's the case, if so even Nadeem would not be playing. Agree on pitch though, there would have been a conscious effort to not give a spinning pitch.

dinda  was worse, slow and unimpressive  , Navdeep is not international standards kinda like BHuvi, bk looks international standards only on favourable tracks

.hardik was probably the fastest but has to improve more to ever think of playing in tests ......

Pandya has bowled with the new ball even for India and has picked up wickets up front so I do not see any issue why he should not have opened.

Yes, Pandya has opened the bowling for India in ODIs.  This is first class cricket and I would see Pandya as a 3rd/4th seamer.  Plus this was a practice match and would have preferred someone like Mhd Siraj or some of the other upcoming pacers opening the bowling.

Selectors need to identify pacers who have realistic chances of playing for India in the near future ( keeping in mind the format ) ..... and play only those pacers in A teams.

Test prospects for 2 to 5 day  A-team games

LOI prospects for one day A-team games.

We have seen Aniket C, Saini, Pandya, (  Good picks )  and  Chama, Dinda and Siraj  ( Bad picks )  in the 2 and 3 day A-team games.   Shardul, Aaron, Warrier, Rajpoot  have missed out.

We have seen  Sangwan ( good pick )   Nehra, Mohit, Kaul   (  questionable picks )    and   Vinay, Dinda,  ( bad picks )   for the one day A-team games.   Nathu, Rajpoot, Warrier have missed out.

Why not go for only the pacers who are next in line  ? Why pick pacers who have no chance of representing India in the near future  ?

A-team games are for player development.
