  1. Maybe because the loyalty is with Indian cricket and not with certain star captains who become power drunk and arrogant after being captain for a few years. In any case, no one should be allowed to be the Indian captain for more than 4-5 years.
  2. Thts the whole point. After being away for over 4 months for that back injury, before he got himself back in rhythm, he was rushed to international cricket ad then played in useless LOIs without bowling in any competitive matches. As great a bowler as he is, expecting him to suddenly have the same old perfect action and step up in high intensity int’l games was setting him up for failure.
  3. Thts the whole point. After being away for over 4 months due to that back injury, before he got himself back in rhythm, he was rushed to international cricket ad then played in useless LOIs without bowling in any competitive matches. As great a bowler as he is, expecting him to suddenly step up in high intensity int’l games was setting him up for failure. Should have been allowed to gradually return to international cricket.
  4. Great to see him back bowling in competitive cricket. Hope he is good shape by the time IPL starts. Hopefully Mccullum and Mills will guide him properly.
  5. Someone remind this fool that the series win he prides himself for, vs Aus in Aus last year, was majorly achieved by Pujara’s batting using EXACTLY the same approach. 1st Test at Adelaide, 1st innings, Pujara was 19*(90), went onto score 123. 2nd innings, scored 71(203), Kohli himself made 34(104) 2nd Test, Pujara scored 106(319) Like it or not, that’s his game. By attacking him publicly, this idiot has again exposed his mental deficiencies.
  6. He is batting well, team is doing well, all is well, all is well. All that is left now is for the coach to come out and say how great he, his captain and his team are. Talk about having head in the sand style thought process
  7. Did you see Shami bowling in ODIs in NZ last year? Was bowling 144-145, and generating huge swing and seam, looked almost unplayable
  8. Only difference between July 2019 and now is Dada as BCCI Chief. If there is one man who can take on Kohli’s PR mafia, it’s him. That is our only hope. Question now is wether Dada will focus on ICC battles or go about professionalising the team leadership, which clearly has become a den of yesmen and sidekicks.
  9. Jadeja at 6, Saha as the 1st choice keeper, 3 pacers and 2 spinners was clearly the home series team combo and going by the talk at that time, sounded like the long term plan as well. Kohli-Shastri gave no indication of changing the strategy for NZ. At the last minute, if there is such massive shuffling of players, it shows a complete lack of planning and preparation, creates panic in the dressing room and affects even stable players mentally. A trend we had got used to seeing on away tours.
  10. Am no bowling expert but he has clear been rushed from his injury. Needed at least 4-5 FC games, if not more, with 100-120 overs of bowling to get back to his rhythm for ODIs or Tests. Bowling 4 overs in T20s is no indication of being ready for Test match bowling. In fact going by his speeds in the NZ 2nd innings today, I would not be surprised if he is declared unfit for the 2nd test. Better to rest than to risk another long term injury. His bowling potency was primarily due to a heavy shoulder thrust, with an injured back yet to heal fully, he clearly isn’t going all out like he
  11. Can the mods please change the title to “...ODIs and Test debacle”
  12. Will the BCCI shed it’s pampering of Kohli (like it did after the WC). Will any of our experts on BCCI payroll or in the media raise the right questions about the 1st test surrender by asking the right questions from Kohli-Shastri about their deeply flawed strategy (if there was one)? Fans need to know Why did Saha suddenly become the 2nd best keeper in the squad? Why Pant was picked for this test after being benched all tour and the coach having publicly spoken about his poor keeping skills? Which team plays a sub standard keeper (as per the coach and captain) in Tests? Ho
  13. Yes, you bloody moron, losing a test in 3 days, barely avoiding an innings loss at a venue where even Pakistani and BD have managed to score 350+ IS a massive loss. For you and your gang of chamchas - Bewda and his cronies in the coaching team and the media PR bandwagon, this may be irrelevant but the fans do care about these challenging tours vs tougher opponents. Those wins vs SL, BD and WI do not matter much if you come out of your make beliew world.
  14. With Wagner coming in, NZ will prepare an absolutely green pitch fr the 2nd test. For us, Bumrah clearly isn't ready for Test cricket yet, he has been rushed back without bowling many overs. That's half our bowling strength.
  15. One answer - arrogance. All the humility he tries to portray in media interviews is FAKE, deep down the guy is the most arrogant and insecure player we have had in recent times.
  16. What an achievement for Kohli, supposedly the greatest ever Indian captain. We need few more series vs WI, SL and BD to help him boost his stats
  17. At some stage, Kohli’s super arrogance as captain and the whole thought process of being this undisputed all powerful ruler of Indian cricket, will be his undoing. Nothing validates the arrogance better than him not batting at all in the practice match before test. Such disrespect to the game almost always precipitates a downfall. Signs are this series is where that decline could very well have started.
  18. Match to be over the 1st session
  19. Pant will be the likely fall guy after the standard capitulation in a SENA test by captain doofus.
  20. Mayank almost walked off, that suggests he clearly felt he had hit it. End of story
  21. 100 for CDG or Watling, NZ score 400+, we end the day at 100/4
  22. What are the odds of Kohli saying "These NZ tests do not matter much, what matters are the T20s which we won 5-0"
  23. You sure were watching something in your fantasy land if you did not see so many deliveries turning whenever Ashwin flighted the ball. Wish they showed the data on average spin
  24. Better to accept that we are still poor travelers to SENA despite the bombastic claims by our loudmouth coach and captain of how great we have become.
  25. Since the 2014 test vs us, each test has produced a result at Basin Reserve, except for a rain curtailed Test vs SL in 2018 when almost an entire day's play was not possible. The trend is unlikely to change. There is enough help for bowlers on the pitch as Ishant showed
