Balwinder Singh Sandhu as the backup tundler. Opposition 100 all out in swinging conditions which is rare these days and 425 for 2 otherwise. Prove your argument with some stats rather than just loose talk. By all accounts, Sandeep Sharma has done pretty well in IPL and they haven't really been "swinging conditions". beetle 1

This is the IPL section which is all about banter, fun and loose talk....so I don't have to prove anything. But, since you ask, the only proof I have of Sandeep Sharma's international ability are the T20I matches he has played . ..where he averages 73 with an ER of 10.4. There are many bowlers who have been stars at IPL level but have never done anything of note in internationals, so I would not consider IPL performances as a reflection of international ability. tweaker and Mosher 2

Sample size of 2 matches. That's how you do your statistical analysis. Great! Fun fact - after his first two ODI matches, Dhoni's batting average was 6.00. Surely must have been the worst Indian ODI player ever. Right?

Because you made a baseless argument that opposition teams will score 425 every time a team of PK, SS, etc bowl. There is no evidence to suggest the same. The limited evidence we have is from the IPL where Sandeep has been a decent bowler. Better than the cr@p bowlers that you have been recommending for LOI cricket over the years based on speed gun readings alone. beetle 1

Better than the cr@p bowlers that you have been recommending for LOI cricket over the years based on speed gun readings alone. Sandeep Sharma has not bowled much in the death death overs of the IPL , when he has done so, he has not done that well as his ability to bowl yorkers and slower balls is not fully developed yet. India plays only 2 specialist seamers and cannot afford a PP specialist, because who will bowl at the death then ? Anyone who understands a bit of cricket will understand this. IF he improves his yorkers and slower balls, he may become a contender for thew T20Is team. I always recommend pacers who combine pace or bounce with skills. If you cannot read properly and look at just the speed part, it is not my problem. My chosen first choice LOI pacers are Bumrah and Shami...and they are doing quite well. Bumrah is hardly the quickest pacer around and I still like him and want him to play ahead of Aaron or Umesh in LOI , so your point does not stand. Most of the pacers I suggest, make it to Team India and keep on playing. So, it seems that Indian captains, coaches and selectors also think the same way.... and that is quite obvious because most people look for pacers who combine pace or bounce with skills. vishalvirsingh Posted May 7, 2017 Author Posted May 7, 2017 Dhwal kulkarni who is as slow as sandeeep though sandeeep is a better bowler has been a failure and has never got the success that was expected. Though he was accurate ..very accurate. Good line n length but was a trundler. Vinay kumar ..very skilled domestic bowler but a failure in international matches. I feel sandeeep swings well and is better than both but still may not succeed. speedheat 1

Once they are successful, just claim them to be your picks. Shami and Bumrah pretty much everybody here picks as their first choice. You were one of those also who kept saying that Bhuvi is a trundler and should be nowhere near Indian team. As he has shown over the years, he is one of our finest bowlers at the moment. But folks like you kept saying that he does not have pace and that pace cannot be taught, blah blah blah. But he has proved all of you wrong by actually adding a yard of pace and still retaining his accuracy. And by the way, Indian captains can also be wrong. One Indian captain is captaining a team full of superstars and that team is lurking as the last in this IPL.

I am being forced to point it out since you are hell-bent on quarreling with me without any basis and specifically raised this issue in your last post. I have never said that Bhuvi should be nowhere near the Indian team. That is just a figment of your imagination. I wanted Bhuvi to improve his pace and his yorkers. He has actually done that. His ODI record was very ordinary before he did this, with only 60 wickets from 57 ODIs. He is looking like a completely different bowler since he has added pace and yorkers. Everyone can see it but you. Now, I want him to improve his deck hitting ability which he has already started doing. it. He hit Warner twice on the shoulder with quick bouncers and hit a Bangladeshi batsman on the head. What this does is makes the pitched up delivery more effective, as the batsman is unsure of coming forward with certainty. Genuine pace of 145 k or more cannot be taught but any pacer can increase his pace by 3 k or 4 k with hard work. What I said was that Bhuvi should not play on test matches played on flat tracks and I want a pacer who can reverse the ball at pace on SUCH tracks, and I stick by that. What I also said was that Bhuvi ER in ODIs was quite high in 2016 and he has not really been a wicket-taker in the ODI format. All these facts are true. p.s - I will say what I want. Don't like it.... don't read it. No one is forcing you to. Edited May 7, 2017 by express bowling Laaloo, Mosher, tweaker and 1 other 4

Unadkat bowls a hattrick maiden over in the final over of a T20 game and not even a single mention about it. Sandeep Sharma puts in two back-to-back match-winning performances, and still not a word of praise for him. Yet, if Umesh Yadav bowls 3-0-15-2, some people here go over the moon and start jumping up and down. Of course the same Umesh Yadav then promptly gets spanked for 21 runs in the final over and the jumping jacks come back to their seats and go husshhh..

vishalvirsingh Posted May 7, 2017 Author Posted May 7, 2017 I created it...its about speed and performance of all medium pacers and fast bowlers in IPL. People don't discuss unadkat as he is a malnourished trundler who has already failed when he got opportunity to play for India. V r looking for pacers who may succeed in international cricket.
