India must pullout and send a message back to world cricket. If the tournament goes on well then yeah they can manage else things will have to fall in line.

The ICC were barely affected by the 2007 world cup, it was the Indian broadcaster in Star that were the ones that took the major hit. Tours from India make up a very small part of the ECB and CAs income, it's the smaller boards that are more reliant on tours from the big 3 to finance themselves.

While ECB and CA aren't exactly 'reliant' on Indian tours, its not as if they don't rake in massive profits when India tours.   And the IPL is effectively subsidizing the talent cost for Australia, NZ etc by paying them high end premium compensation for the short season, which allows boards like NZ to keep their central contracts on the lower side and still keep players happy.   To this day, the IPL pays each of the boards a percentage of the player's salary - so when a Chris Gayle plays for Bangalore, the West Indies Board gets a nice amount of $$$ coming their way.

No.  BCCI can do a lot more.  Revenge is a dish best tasted cold.   Time to go to the drawing board.   See how South Africa suffers when ABDV prefers to "rest" when SA is playing Sri Lanka, and then plays the full IPL season?   See how West Indies players refuse to sign central contracts with the WICB and prefer to stay free-lancers?   That's just the tip of the iceberg.   ICC has pulled off a Pearl Harbor on a sleeping giant.   But we all know how that turned out in the end.  When the BCCI's version of fat boy and little man drop on ICC's Hiroshima-Nagasaki, the carnage will be irreversible.

BCCI till now was content filling up its coffers, not being overly aggressive with the IPL.   Now it has a reason to be ruthless with IPL Expansion.   No phucks given.  Ideally I want February through May - a proper organic expansion of the IPL season.  But something tells me that the BCCI is going to target July/August.   We shall see.

i once tried to read annual report for ICC for the year 2007, their link was dead they had reports for all other years lol. I just checked back in the website its not an IT error hehe. I think they got routed them and WICB who never recovered from it.

ICC was not affected as no sponsor and broadcaster can pull out or renegotiate if X team is knocked out.Thats fate. But if X team boycotts and withdraws then its a different case altogether. Then sponsors and broadcasters will say X team is no more a participant we will renegotiate.

Its like you invite a superstar to perform and sell tickets. If he performs badly you cannot claim refund, but if he doesnt come you will claim a refund.

An Indian tour is worth upto 100mn USD for CA. So no India tours are not a "very small" part of CA.

Check the figures.

Nope, we shouldn't pull out. Bcci has already got isolated from all the other boards and stupid decisions like this ie withdrawing from the CT will make the isolation process even smoother.

As a matter of fact manohar knows bcci well enough to know that  India will never pull themselves out of an ICC event which is why I don't think he's gonna budge to these empty threats.

Who the hell is talking about Bangladesh pulling out?Who cares?

Given the BCCI term this as a 'Foreign board release fee' surely this only gets paid if a player is under contract to a board?

Ashes aside, there are bigger financial gains to be made from competing against India, where television audiences can be as high as 400 million for important matches.

“If you look at any business, or any sport, you look at where the largest market is,” Collier said. “When you’ve got a country of that size and stature, a population of over a billion that is absolutely in love with the game of cricket, no other sport touches the reach that cricket has in that country.”

This what ECB said in 2013.You think that India Tour makes a "very small part" of ECB's rvenue?

Think again.

No.They pay it as long as the Player needs a NOC from the board. That is till 5 years after the player retires or the last contract.

ofcourse why would it be otherwise, the CTC of the player will be wasted on a board an uncontracted player gets no compensatory benefits from the foregin board why would he want to give charity to it.

Send a team with Unadkat, Dinda, Murali Vijay, Pujara, Mandeep etc. captained by Rahane :phehe:

Those are still very high profile for a Champions trophy without Indian best eleven . :phehe:

It's a battle which India is not likely to win. This is a sad event but we have to accept the fact that nothing is bigger than the game and we should respect the decision that has been taken by all the other boards.

Cricket won't survive in India without the help of other boards. U need friend to win wars, its quite SAD to see that at the moment India has no friends. It's not surprising though. Thuggery and extortion doesn't win u friends.

extortion is when : 5 chewt goons force a father of 10 part with his just salary by mugging him. Its not when a bright high performer asks and get a salary increase. Extortion is what just happened in ICC, and every one of the boards will pay for it, pun intended.

I'm Talking about India my dear friend Malcom. It really saddens me to see my board in such a deep $h!t. Hope we realize the the importance of friendship and give equal importance  to every other board.

socialism - ended USSR boss. Capitalism bred Apple and Google. There is no equality or free lunch in free enterprise, just rightful profits.
