Besides, this is a best time to take a stand since its a fresh auction for teams and players next year. IPL can be expanded during the new auction without having issues faced by kochi, pune being added in the middle.

India should never accept playing other nations based on any ICC mandate, it should be bilateral. there can be guidelines not rules on this.

Not going to happen.  The whole test and ODI "league" creation with points etc requires that all the teams commit to playing others a minimum number of times within a specified duration.  "Heritage" series like the ashes etc can play extra matches per the convenience of the boards in question.   Minimum # of games is fine - but it really needs to be bare minimum.

I would be shocked if the IPL isn't 10 teams next year.

you are saying BCCi will get into a contract to play pakistan in their home game a limited number of times in the duration. Thats a clear no for anyone. writing on the wall, they should cede.

As long as there is an out clause for government approval (or lack of), its fine.  But if there's point forfeiture, or financial compensation, then clearly its an unacceptable scenario.

i'd love to smack the wrinkles off his face for saying that. Dying sport? half a million people just watched the IPL. cricket in india is bigger &  better than ever, no better time to be a cricket fan in this country. his brain-cells are the only thing dying.
