But same can be said about Ashwin too in Asia cup 2014 against Pakistan

 

I am referring to the semis against SA were he completely fell apart after bowling that no ball.

It was Raina, or Yuvi's dismissal rather, that actually saved us in the semis. Otherwise, it was Yuvi again, more than Mishra, who has lost it for us in semis only, even before the final debacle happened. Thank God, Yuvi got out just at the right time, and Raina could take on Parnell.

Agree about the bit about Kohli needing guidance....specially after seeing him captain RCB .

 

This is not a bait for pro/ anti Dhoni talk .....but even Virat will be relieved to have him around .

Still can't ignore someone who has an average of 23 and strike rate below 30 over 36 ODIs. He might be the worst fielder, but he's the best at the main job given to him, ie bowling. No point of selecting a good fielder who can't do the main job of bowling well.

Btw Ashwin too doesn't add much value to the team with his fielding.

Rahane's selection makes no sense at all, one can't justify it, either kohli is big fan of rahane too like he's a fan of rohit or the mumbai lobby is at it again, even players like uttappa would do better than rachane, so many talented players are dropped after 1-2 bad matches and lucky guys like Rahane get a free ride, heck even pujara has a way better list A average than rahane, Rahane averages 36 in list A , even if I remove the international matches from his List A record, his average is purely domestic ODIs is 40.9 with 5 centuries, pujara averages 54 with 10 centuries. 

 

P.S. I am not saying pujara should be given a chance in limited overs, he's pathetic for odis, just showing how freaking ridiculous the selection of rahane is
