Even Haroon Logart wants to make Indians his slave

Is Lorgot right on his stance about BCCI should confirm South Aftican tour first

  1. 1. Should BCCI confirm the tour?

    • Yes, BCCI must gve them confirmation for the tour.
    • Not needed, they backstabbed us in the voting. They can keep their players in South Africa, we don't want them in IPL
    • For the sake of Test Cricket, BCCI should confirm tour
    • Both parties should make some truce. Both International cricket and IPL need to be respected.

Haroon Lorgat, the chief executive of Cricket South Africa (CSA), wrote a letter to Rahul Johri, the CEO at Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), "requesting" the latter to confirm India's tour of South Africa starting with the Boxing Day Test later this year, following which he would agree to South African cricketers continuing to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Johri confirmed receiving the communication from Lorgat and added that he had chosen to "ignore" the request. "I didn't even bother to communicate. We will communicate when the time is right," Johri told TOI.

In what seems to be a clear case of CSA trying to arm-twist the BCCI by "dangling the carrot" of IPL participation, Lorgat took a defiant stand and decided not to extend the window for South African cricketers playing in the IPL. The deadline for South Africans partaking in the IPL 2017 came to an end on May 8, following which they have now left their respective franchises.

The South African cricket board, which voted against the BCCI at the recent Board meeting of the ICC in both finance and governance policy changes, expects India to also support their proposed Global Destination T20 League for which a window is yet to be created. South Africa expects the league to be played in the month of November while India is already in a fix trying to confirm its own home season going forward, especially in the wake of ICC developments.

CSA, for the record, expects India to make the tour of South Africa in December this year, keeping the Boxing Day Test in mind whereas the BCCI hasn't confirmed anything yet. Sources in the know of things say "India could tour South Africa starting January".

CSA's stand on matters involving India, say industry sources, is clearly "an unfair one" and comes in the wake of a "weak" Indian

I remember when we went on previous tour there for just 2 test matches, everyone was mad at BCCI for not playing at least 3 test matches there, wonder what all test cricket fans have to say about this now.

Stuge trying to copy the hyperbole :phehe:

Between seems BCCI has told CSA to piss off lol

TOI has learnt that BCCI has confirmed New Zealand as Pakistan's replacement to tour India in November.

India could head to SA after the completion of the series.

SA wants to institutionalize its boxing day test, as well as their late to the party "franchise league".   Everyone wants to try and play hardball with the BCCI right now.   Chance pe dance.  But every action....

I like making multiple posts.

I said SA is arm twisting us because of our weak stance in ICC and hence didnot extend the players deadline. Haroon Lorgats letter is exactly that a "blackmail".

Yesterday all of you were oh this was pre decided. There is no arm twisting etc here. Now?

Everyone is after BCCI money. The day BCCI decides to take away that money from the table the boards will fall in line.

We did play just two games earlier too, on previous tour after all the confusion and we were your so called "superpower" that time also.

So there goes yor claim again.

Even when we were supoerpowers, BCCI always had to listen to other boards or could not negotiate well with them, be it IPl players deadline extension or anything.

We played 2 games because Lorgat with support of CSA tried to implement the Woolf Report.India cutting down on the series meant CSA made a loss of 20mn USD.It was lesson taught to CSA and Lorgat had to apologise publicly.

If this was 2014 or 15 CSA would have extended the deadline and not try to blackmail.

As yourself said you dont know **** about BCCI affairs....well...
