I have asked so many of my Pakistani friends to show one clip where six consecutive balls from the two W's were in 140k's and they cant show any.

Same here, I have also asked them to show me their great bowlers winning them any game overseas like in Australia, they can't find that. They were able to pull up a scorecard for a Draw game though in Australia from back in 1996.

Get you point, the answer is they arnt allowed, but innocent until proven guilty, but also absence of proof is not proof of absence of guilt.

Akhtar shared in an Hindi interview with Bhogle which is available on youtube, that they used to practice on "working" the ball to their advantage. He also admitted ball tempering.

It was a culture there where players grew up learning how to basicaly play around with the seam.

It was only later when media and ICC got hard on this issue and there was more awareness is when they probably stopped doing, but by then, Akram and co were in the twilight of their careers.

You can associate Akram with Tom Brady, a legend of the game who did not actually need to inflate the ball to win a superbowl, but the fact that he did, it will always remain with him even though everyone knows he is a champion quarterback and one of the greatest in NFL. Similarly, Akram, a legend of the game will always have the tampering thing attached to him, even though he did not need to do it to show his class. It will forever be associated with him.

they were under intense media scrutiny for cheating (ball tampering) during the whole series vs England in the early 90s and nobody found anything.

Akram has subsequently said many, many times that the big difference was (and still is) Pakistan were invested as a team to treat the ball, with players routinely passing the ball back to the bowler on the bounce (on the rough side), spinners bowling cross seam deliveries specifically with the rougher side facing down, etc.

The reason they got so much success from it, is because the Pakistan team was the best at ball management during that era, reverse swing was a new and unknown weapon and they were both top class ball-hiders.

And bottle caps and shitty cameras and shitty umpires.

I try to be polite.

Look at all the clips and you can see that both W's are rather overweight as in body fat.

There greatness was lot of stories.

Like I said they wonder why they dont have pace bowlers any more but the answer is that they do. It is that they cannot cheat anymore.

No bottle caps or shitty umpires or shitty camera in the England series.

As i said, there is no evidence that Akram or Waqar tampered the ball. I've seen plenty of cricket shows where Akram talks in detail about how the Pakistani team managed the ball- they did it better than anyone else has, thats for sure.

yup

both of them were trundlers and used bottlecaps to get reverse swing. Basically they bowled slow and cheated, are pakistani greats cause you know how it goes there they did not match fix and get caught so yeah qualify to be greats.

Trundlers? Wtf have you been smoking currently. You wont produce a bowler of pace of waqar till dooms day

Read the article for instance. They tampered their umpires cheated. It's common knowledge that they used bottle.caps to lift the seam they thought everyone did it. Hehe

Waq wasim bowled 130 to 140 not fast used bottle caps else they won't have probably got reverse swing their wickets count would be around 25 % if they did not get home umpires so yeah poor bowlers bugged up by circumstances. Srinath was faster..bowled legally more importantly. He was fastest till the time actor came.and started chucking. Yeah so you know what I mean..truth will out.

They were good, especially Wasim, but there's no doubt their numbers were inflated due to lot of "extra curricular" activities. That's the reason you see such a steep drop-off between Pak pace bowlers over the last 10-15 years. Earlier Pak bowler could rely on ball tampering and dodgy ball management techniques but they can't anymore and that's why they are struggling to unearth decent pacers at intl level.

The ball tampering practice started in the days of Sarfraz Nawaz, enhanced by Imran and passed on to Wasim & Waqar and so on. Since the days ICC started acting tough on these practices and started monitoring the ball, things changed for Pak pacers. Had it been the old days their golden boy Aamir would be picking wkts by the bagful but he's struggling and against everyone to pick up wkts coz now he can't rely on ball tampering like earlier generation used to.

Management of cricket ball lesson 1

316262-3x2-340x227.jpg

Lesson 2: Scruff the seam with a bottle cap to make it swing and bucket loads of wickets...yeah...

https://www.google.ca/amp/www.independent.co.uk/sport/cricket-imran-admits-cheating-glenn-moore-on-the-book-throwing-light-on-a-touchy-subject-1434755.html%3Famp

Lesson 3

When all else fails, use your nails to give it a good carving and do it with a dirty toothy grin for a measure of discreetness.

Lesson 4

This is most important.

Never get caught even if found make sure the ball is no where to be seen.

"In the 2nd test at Lord's in 1992 the umpires changed the Pakistani ball on the third afternoon, the clear implication being (as with today) that it had been tampered with. But the ball was never found so no more allegations."

Lesson 5 on ball management.

Even if you get caught for ball tampering multiple times and get suspended like waqar keep at it and act as if you have a squeaky clean image.
