Injuries.....any team who will loose so many key players will struggle

What happened to our current Indian captain Kohli team this yr- injuries

Last yr only malinga injury stopped MI from reaching semi

Look at DD such a good side but was hurt when players like de kock n duminy went out, who knws had they been their story wud have been diff

Have a look at squad at last season and this season. This season it was worse. Thankfully Stokes was exceptional who was a Steven Smith's selection (Steve smith has mentioned that he made it clear that Stokes is to be in squad at any cost) unlike Dhoni's  pick who are more like chaddi buddies like R P Singh.

Things just don't fall in place. You need to make that happen. Rajat bhatia was persisted with tgroughout the entire season last year. This year he was doing good just like last season but still he was replaced. Dinda was immediately dropped and Unadkat was given chance. Washington Sundar a 17 year old got chance to play. I am 100% sure he would not have got chance under dhoni but M Ashwin(not sure he is in squad but if he is) would have got it only in worst case possibility. Lockie would never get an opportunity under Dhoni. Dhoni is the kind of captain who wait for things to fall in place. Now if the team is strong like CSK or Indian team in this decade, the players in the team would themselves take responsibility and since they are class players already it isn't much difficult for things to fall in place. But for weak teams this does not happen magically. As a captain you need to keep trying different tricks , players and right combinations.Besides you need to extract best from them and not satisfied with OKayish performances.

A sign of a great captain is not the number of trophies but the ability to lead favourites and hopeless teams equally well.
