Ajit Agarkar has been appointed as the chief selector of the Mumbai Cricket Association . He was handed the duty on Friday as the MCA believed he was the most suited man for the job.

Ajit Agarkar will be chairman of the selection committee for the senior team as well as for the U23 team

For a decade, he was my favorite Indian bowler. Hopefully he has a lot to offer, not just as a selector but also as a bowling coach to youngsters in India from all his experience.

Nobody likes to bowl in Mumbai at any level of cricket. There is heavy batting culture.If there is little interest in bowling agarkar can only find trundlers.
