What? In swinging conditions sure Bhuvi is comfortably ahead. Not so on Aussie/SA pitches and subcontinental flat tracks. So how is Bhuvi comfortably ahead of Umesh in tests???

its Yadav/Bhuv , i would love to see Shami and Yadav. But it will be Yadav, remember the practice game Yadav had 3 early strikes. But shami got Muzzfzfh#$@?wtf?re , Bhuv got Sakib/Mamudhulla.

Bhuvi and Bumrah are undroppable.  They own the last 10 overs.  Against any opposition.  Its Yadav/Shami.  And based on Yadav's 'performance' in the SL game, I'm hoping a fit Shami is playing.

Bhuvi has improved because he worked on increasing his pace ,he bowls 135-145km/h hardly trundler.In modern odi cricket there is no place for medium Pacers.

Again Jadeja and Pandya were main culprits against SL.

Shami has not played LOI's in i do not know how many months/years, odds of him being brought back for a ICC semi is pretty low, its going to be Yadav i am hoping its the one with control not the one who bowls fast filth.

Not a trundler in LOI's yes, he is fast medium. Tests are different one needs to be on the filed whole day and bowl.

Against B'desh I would keep shwin as B'desh has a lot of left handers in their lineup and Ashwin's off spin will come in handy. Plus Edgbaston supports spin and there have been plenty of matches played so spinners should be a factor compared to a pacer

Bhuvi and Bumrah contain with new ball ,Yadav Shami are aggressive options who can pick wickets ,Yadav has been a force in Icc tournaments be in world cup or champions trophy latest time.I would pick Yadav over Shami too huge a risk if Shami breaks down.

Also Yadav is best fielder of the Pacers and easily among India top outfielders.

Yadav is the best fielder, agreed.  But if Sham is proven fit, and has bowled the equivalent of 10 overs even in net without breaking down, I would be tempted to go with him.

Shami may not be 100% fit but he will still bowl his spell of 10 overs at a high level. He has never broken down in the middle of the match and bowled through injury in WC 2015 at a high level.

Even Yadav will do well if there is some assistance for pacers. Example first test in WI.

In the last one year, after both have improved,  Umesh and Bhuvi have played together in only 3 tests. And that is the best way to truly compare as pitch conditions and opposition quality are the same.

 

Umesh bowled much better than Bhuvi in the Dharamshala test vs Australia on a bouncy seaming  track. He also bowled better than Bhuvi against Bangladesh on a flat track. In the Mumbai test vs England, both looked ineffective.

 

In these 3 tests, Umesh has picked up 8 wickets and Bhuvi has picked up 4.

 

So, Umesh still looks better than Bhuvi in test matches unless we are playing in swing friendly conditions like some venues in England.

Umesh has got a continuous run throughout the year now while Bhuvi has been in and out. Yadav supporters made a big deal about this when Yadav was not doing well. Yadav got continous support and has done well. If Bhuvi gets the same he will outshine any bowler in the world.

No....Bhuvi replaced Umesh in Gros Islet and Port of Spain in the West Indies.

 

Umesh did not play the Kolkata test either... it was Shami and Bhuvi there
