maniac Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 Good points...actually the 3 batsman who performed today bar Matthews I think 2 of them were even mentioned by Ian Chappell as very talented
sandeep Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 Phattu Manju doesn't even want to be accused of criticising Indian batting. So he says its Simon Hughes who "put the thought in my head". Ultimate_Game 1
Ultimate_Game Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 Couple of points where I differ from Manju... 1. When talking about Indian pacers, he should've specifically called out Umesh as Bhuvi and Bumrah were much better and didn't deserve to be put in the same category as Umesh. 2. And Manju missed out on our poor bowling changes where we saved Umesh for the death when he should've bowled more in the middle overs. Other than that Manju was spot on. Texan and beetle 2

Yes lot of things to hate about Manjrekar's commentary but I genuinely think he is a good guy ever since I saw the tehelka tapes. nevada 1

Manju will never call out players. He's too CYA to do that. He knows he has a good gig and he wants to keep it.

So, just because he wasn't a match-fixer, I shouldn't criticize his pathetic commentary, his shameless political nonsense, his sly self-preservation? Frogacumen-logic. Then he could've said something on the lines of "India missed a trick by not attacking more and bowling Umesh in the middle overs" and that statement would've been spot on. From 15th over till IIRC 38 it was all Jaddu, Pandya, Kohli and Jadhav. Maybe Kohli could've bowled Yuvi as well At the end of the day we didn't even try and attack during the middle overs and SL had it much easier against the lesser bowlers.

Blame the defensive captain for those calls then. New guy 1

Frogacumen-logic. Shant Sunny Deol Shanat...My reference was not to him not being a fixer...In those tapes, there is a conversation between with him and Manoj Prabhakar where he comes across as a likeable bloke who is soft natured and keeps to himself . For a moment I thought you were totally against what he said and then I saw your post that you agreed with what he said,so why are you ranting about him Now he was correct in what he said as it was a collective failure today and didn't pinpoint individuals,so for "THIS" occasion he was spot on. I already said I am not a fan of his commentary. What Political nonsese, did I miss something? Sly self-preservation ,The guy even went after Tendulkar-one of the most politically incorrect moves in cricket.Yes he was wrong the way he criticized Sachin. Anyway did Manjrekar take your job? Lol Again FYI-His commentary sucks the momentum just like a typical Dhoni T20 innings
Haarkarjeetgaye Posted June 9, 2017 Posted June 9, 2017 Good points but the priority is wrong. It should be 3 2 1
vayuu1 Posted June 9, 2017 Posted June 9, 2017 That's why I always believe you need unorthodox cricketers, in squad ,guys like pant, hooda, iyer etc, do we have any 360 degree players in domestics Sent from my vivo 1601 using Tapatalk

Let's import some "magical" players who will be the saviors. Its not about individual players. Changing players will do diddlysquat if the team adopts the same old overly conservative strategy. I thought changing captains will do the trick, but clearly the safety first approach needs a few hard setbacks before it will give up the ghost.
