A real captain needs to have control over his team. ... So maggi sharma will end up like Virat as captain if that's the case

He can last well until 2019.

1) our opening will be weakened as GG is a weaker player now than RS tbh

2) GG's ego will have many conflicts with Kohli's

3) Dhoni will move out as his enemies have acquired power... - which is a good thing

4) raina and Jadeja will get the stick and KKR/delhi players will get the carrot...

Even Yuvi has been 'proving himself' in domestic. He plays in middle order where there is a vacancy especially with Pandey injured.

 

Gambhir is an opener, we already have Dhawan, Rohit, Rahul, even Rahane or maybe even Pant ahead of him in the pecking order for 2 spots.

Dhawan has been quite bad except ICC tournaments.

Rohit cannot be allowed to continue unchallenged.   Rahul  may or may not pan out and can certainly be played down the order as well.

 

Gautam can be very valuable for 2 years .   Yuvi is not useful  - His domestic and IPL game has been awful - he cannot even field and not bowling now.

Gautam brings a level of consistency and cricketing brain that we need .  Might seem like a bakcward step but he is needed as a leader - we do not have any now post Dhoni.

 

Listening to Sarfaraz post match -  even he acknowledges that batting first ina Final and scoring 270-280 puts the other team under pressure.  Kohli could not even read that as a game ?   He did not back his team to score even 270-280 against Pakistan batting first and put them under pressure ?

Kohli is too friendly with the Pakistani....Sachin and even Dhoni didn't instigate or show fake aggression but they never went out of their way to be friendly with them...Kohli tries too hard in that aspect

Agreed. All nicey-nice with aamir and getting brownie points for good nature and sportsmanship. Win the freaking game and have a laugh later. Then again, when you get paid millions these things dont matter.
