vvvslaxman Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 Even against other teams he allows that to play on his mind. He consciously moves across unnecessarily. May be he should have a session with someone like Dravid, Tendulkar. He did that against almost all teams after they started attacking outside the off stump channel. When the ball goes across you and you try to play across the line this is what more often than not happens. Instead he should learn to play side on like Dravid. Going across consistently produces outer edge. He looked like he fixed it. Resurfaced against SL. He should change guard or something. Ofcourse there were some nerves. But this is more a technical issue than anything else.
Adi_91 Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 Did he fix that? I remember Nasser Hussain mentioned it in the first game or something.
vvvslaxman Posted June 18, 2017 Author Posted June 18, 2017 Yes. I thought he fixed it. Old habits die hard. He has started again. vamos_rafa 1
Gollum Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 Will fail miserable in UK next year just like how Ashwin and Jaddu will fare outside (SC+WI).
Crookbond Posted June 18, 2017 Posted June 18, 2017 Phew! He is susceptible to balls outside off stump early in his innings. That's it. Much like Ricky Ponting or any other batsman in the world. express bowling, The Dark Horse, MechEng and 1 other 4
MechEng Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 Ricky Ponting had exactly the same weakness, but the difference here is that Ponting played in 2000s when overall quality of fast bowling was low and Kohli is playing in 2010s a relatively better era for fast bowling. Only Flintoff in 2005 and Unlucky in 2007/08 exposed this weakness.
Deleted_User_1 Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 he is going to have another poor series in England next year. Pathetic batting by Chokohli!
Vk1 Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 Guys have trust in him. He will correct it or do some workaround. We are talking of kohli the batsman here.
Pak_cric Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 Also, Kohli is only vulnerable to the ball angling away from him when he is new at the crease. In games where he has looked to play out those deliveries in the beginning instead of pushing at them, he has done well to be dominant later outside his off stump. Kohli is world class, but every batsman has a weakness early at the crease and I am sure Kohli will find a way to fix it. express bowling 1

King Tendulkar Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 Yes I know scored runs galore last 2 years in all formats and scored loads in this ct but ....... failed in this match so massive flaw and is finished . Bring on the dk machine
The Dark Horse Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 I'd be more concerned about his captaincy than batting. His batting will be fine.

New india new attitude Exactly , new Indian attitude is definitely needed - selecting friends , playing faviorites , ego trips and blackmailing Indian cricket to get the coach fired - that's the direction we need to go !
