The role of a Coach in Cricket is overrated. Captain has the biggest role to play unlike any other sport. What the coach can do is strategize . Vk1 Posted June 20, 2017 Author Posted June 20, 2017 Tom moody or a Fleming could be better coaches but considering the situation..We are too late in our preparation for 2019, shastri has the advantage of knowing players well and you must see the interviews of rohit or kohli. They were full of praise for shastri. Whether we like it or not kohli is irreplaceable and his choice would be final. It's like a tuition teacher role , don't like the teaching so change the tutor. If a coach can indeed teach anything then the coach should be a fast bowler - McGrath, Walsh etc . A batting coach or a all rounder just for teaching purpose is useless for India.
