An Indian team win in the WC final would have changed the face of women's cricket forever

In the long term it would have been better for english women players and all women players if India had won.

The masses of our population would have gotten interested and the game would have eventually been flushed with cash

Similar way the men's 2007 T20 win changed the face of T20s and men's cricket forever, us winning here would have done the same thing for women;s cricket.

Women's cricket in India would have a long way to go with or without the WC win. Those of you who went to co-ed school in India, do you remember your physical education/sports periods? Boys would play cricket, soccer. Girls would either sit around watching boys, or would play basketball, khokho (what a sport that was!)...

All women and girls in my family are cricket haters or indifferent to cricket .Forget about playing they hardly even switch on tv.Women's cricket is not going to be 5-10% of men' cricket

I agree with Kosingnh, women cricket will surely pick up more.

This tournament was fantastic for us and lot of girls will be inspired to not only pick up cricket but other sports. Indian teenagers need women sportsplayers as their idols, their are many in this current Indian women team who lit this tournament and gave Indians something to be proud of.

You are an exception .O/W just look at ratio of men vs women on icf.Out of 100s of regular male posters only 2-3 females

Yes it is true. It is now obvious that without India cricket cannot survive may it be male or female as such is the might of India in the world now. I am extremely sad the way India lost the match and specially for Mithali Raj as she deserve to have a world cup in her bag... She is the Goddess of Cricket Like Sachin is the God of Cricket.
