Stuge Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 (edited) Road to world cup seems distant at the moment but in cricketing years.. 2019 isn't that far as it seems. As per Kohli fans he will bring us throphy like Dhoni and Kapil did in 2011 and 1983 . Edited August 2, 2017 by Stuge velu 1
sourab10forever Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 Kohli the champ Even Anti-Kohli fans now trying to get to safe grounds by creating these kinda threads.
Tibarn Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 Well, we did make it to the final of the CT, and for sure had an off day, but it's not like we performed poorly in Kohli's 1st ICC tourney. I'm optimistic that KL Rahul or Manish Pandey will have replaced Yuvi by 2019, and I'm sure Shami will be fit for 2019, not being over-trained anymore. I think at least 1 of Chahal/Kuldeep has a chance of displacing Ash/Jaddu by 2019, although I doubt both Ash/Jaddu get replaced. I can see why someone would think AUS is the favorite, they are the holders after all, but we have as good a shot as any to win the thing. express bowling 1
NareshK Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 Nobody can predict what can happen on the given day in a limited overs game. One batsman can play a blinder, one bowler can take 5 wickets and then game is done. What makes you so sure any team can win for sure ? Other than Aussies of 2000s or West Indies of 80s, nobody can be sure of winning any tournament. Good performance from the team in the overall tournament is what one should expect.
velu Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 problem with this format is that we cant win a wooden spoon
The Dark Horse Posted August 3, 2017 Posted August 3, 2017 It's not about captaincy anymore in LOIs at least. Individuals that are coming in are nowadays are capable of standalone performances. When you have 11 people who do that, you'll definitely reach the finals.

It is about Captaincy because he is involved in finalising the XI and keeping many old deadlogs in team means performance will be very inconsistent to even reach final.

Most deadlogs would be out by 2019 except for Dhoni maybe because he is one cunning fellow who wouldn't leave until he wants. Kohli would eventually learn the hard way. But it is mostly true barring selection of playing eleven capatincy barely matters much if players are capable enough in ODIs. It has been happening for a long time now under Dhoni. A middle order of yuvraj, Raina and dhoni and top order of Gambhir, Sehwag etc. With such lineup even if Mishraji captains we would do well most of the times. Field placement and bowling changes aren't much difficult for most part of game except few crucial situations and even an amateur can get away with it. The Dark Horse 1
