Rahane the ODI batsman...

Hi Guys,

This is my first OP in ICF. I would like to know from you guys how do you rate Rahane as ODI's batsmen.

For me he is more of an accumulator but in ODI's and that too in Opening you also need power game. He seems to be bogged down after initial burst and then even fail to rotate strike on regular intervals.

 

How he keep getting selected is another misery to me.

Yes he is not a odi bat but U need some scapegoats in the team.  Even though rahane should not be blamed for yesterday's game still people are asking for his head.  Thats what management wants

he is a very mediocre odi/t20 batsman,who has no sense of playing a limited overs innings.He is getting a chance to open and he is derailing chases from the start ,adding to india's woes.

he should not near Indian ODI's team. We have better openers in then him on ODI's.

Like Mayank Agarwal, Mandeep Singh. These guys should be given more chances.

Rahane, Karthik, Axar, Dhawal, are the players who are in the team when the favourite ie Shikhar, Rohit, Jadeja are away from the team due to injuries or personal reasons.They are selected for the sole reason that the favourite can comeback in the team when they want.

These are the guys I'll take over Rahane as openers if need be. I'll even promote the captain to open if Rohit or Dhawan is out.

Sorry to say these harsh words!! People who are defending rahane has no idea how the modern era cricket is being played, 53 off some 60+ balls on bengluru track and that too in a 335 chase is not at all acceptable, he has a technique which is highly suitable for test match format but in loi he should be nowhere near the team!!
