On icf if follow all advice would have 60 man squad min lol

With the population we have, and add to that the financial resources available and the amount of players who play competitive cricket we should have had  atleast 3 X1s ready  that can beat any international side easily.

Unfortunately take Kohli out of the equation in 2/3 formats and we are not even confident enough to say we will crush or beat any top 5 side especially overseas.

we still have people on here saying that there is no alternative to a 37 year old wicket keeper who is 5-6 years past his prime.

people said Ash and Jadeja were the best and no one even come close to them in terms of spin bowling potential and if they suck in LOI format or have off days then we have to just suck up and deal with it but when we tried out of necessity we have found 2 more world class spinners.

so yeah ICF is not way too off by wanting to have a 60 man squad.

Rkt what kind of mould ,player is he?

He used to be a steady batsman but since last season or two he has transformed his batting completely. He had an SR of 85 last season scoring 978 runs. This season to he has started with triple scoring at an SR of 94.  He is getting better better every season. This is his 5th FC season. His first two seasons were average, also it is not easy for openers from north to score a lot as they usually face very seam friendly conditions during winters but last two seasons. He scored at 50 and 50 plus averages. This season too he has started well. He also played in Bangladesh Domestic and did well there too. He played 11 one day matches in all and scored  492 runs at an average of 45 with an SR of 95, hitting 17 sixes. He was the top run getter for his team despite playing 5 matches less from the 2nd top run getter who scored 485 runs in 16 games.

We have Drawn in oz twice in test series against what many observers would say was strongest test teams in history of cricket . So great achievement never mentioned . Also drew test series in sa

only under dark dhoni years after World Cup win when he focused on making £££ did we go backwards to pre 2000 dark days . But now new skipper we back . We will do well overseas now like from 2000 to 2011

Agree but I tell you drawing in oz against greatest team ever played the game twice is worth a zillion times more then if we beat current saf and oz teams away from home . We would have won as well if it wasn't for *nor !!!

In that era only India stood up to mighty Aussies . We beat them at home often as well . We never got credit for that era and how we performed

^^ when did they draw with Aussies twice, they only drew with them once that in 2004 and I certainly would not call that side greatest side by any stretch.Brad Williams and one more left hander who later became Odi specialist played in that series as bowlers along with great Andy Bichel. No Warne and Mcgrath.

Well...if i remember correctly, there was no Mcgrath and Shane Warne in that series....so we cannot consider it as greatest Ozzie side...

Did Bret Lee Played that series?

Yes he did.  Got a double century at Sydney IIRC.  The wrong kind btw.  We would have won that series if Parthiv hadn't muffed a vanilla stumping of Waugh in his "farewell" test.
