I have not seen him bowl for a while, but it's not just his BP XI wkts- wasn't he second highest wicket taker in the IPL , can't dismiss all of that as fluke.

 

 

 

Last yr it was dhawal and he has been smashed ever since

Trundlers like munaf, anureet andw few others have done well in past IPL.........

 

Also didnt unadkat went to zimb and got smashed and his speeds were awfull 

 

Simple u either have it or dnt, unadkat doesnt have it for international level

At one point we had like Zaheer, Irfan, RP Singh, Nehra. Suddenly nobody is there except Unadkat. We had this guy Netravalkar playing for U-19. Whatever happened to him.  RP singh was damn good when he was in rythm. Both in England and SA world T20.

Playing one test for country is prestigious even after playing 100 tests.

ATG aussie team never gave rest to ponting hayden gilli etc even against utter minnow bangladesh.

Play the fittest players. And if they are not fit try someone with potential. After all two rookies were the ones who shaped India's first ever series win in Pakistan. IRfan and Balaji. Irfan helped with Perth test. RP singh helped us win England series.

But loved his action and nice shape he was getting. Sandeep was getting banana inswingers. Netravalkar had a nice action. With bit more pace he could have gone somewhere. Actually Unadkat was clocking 139 in the same U19 match Netravalkar played. Then Unadkat became a trundler.

Think it's a bit soon for Gill and even Shaw let them play at least two more fc seasons. They need to have totally understood their games and ironed out flaws with state and A team matches. 

 

Thakor can be in line for ODI team 

I do understand it making little inexperience side but we have to make these bold steps. May be we can have Rohit just for that serious to keep little experience for the t20 team and all youngsters around him. 

 

I think if the series was against Australia or South Africa, I would say its soon. But Lanka is here playing with mediocre bowling line up, and its no harm in trying Gill sometime now.

Netravalkar plays here in USA. He moved to USA to do masters and was playing college cricket here and now is most likely going to play for USA in few years provided he has completed his time to be allowed to pay for USA. 

 

Netravalkar is also a decent batsman.

You don't gift India test caps just to try out new faces. Indian cap needs to be earned.

so who asking giving test cap to rookies. There are players who are consistently performing. Navdeep Saini is averaging 23 in FC cricket. Also, pacers need to be selected on horses basis. Like of Shamis and Umesh Yadavs are not suited to SA conditions. There wont be much reverse, you would need bowlers who bowl in right areas when there is little from conditions.

I don't think it works like that, Shami and Yadav have earned their place to SA.If they fail there then on next tours others guys can come in.

Vinay Kumar was also averaging very impressive in FC but we all know how well he can bowl.While having good average is important but it shouldn't be main reason for selection.Saini is 25 yr old so he is no spring chicken.When Siraj can be selected in T20s, why is this guy left out??

Saini toured with India A to SA and did well. Has enough FC experience too.

Shami is not suited for SA tracks so you don’t want to play him? He is the best bowler in India and we have to take him and it's not that Shami doesn’t bowl in the right areas, he always does and that is how you get wickets and become a good bowler. He doesn’t rely on reverse alone.

he is yet to prove that. On last away tour leg, he was average at best.

That's fine, but not having him in test is just ridiculous suggestion. Kohli is yet to prove in England too doesn't mean we should not play him there. 

 

Shami if fit must start everywhere we play.

Kohli only  failed in England and did well on every other tour. Shami struggled everywhere with stamina and consistency. He was horrible in England when everyone was expecting him to become our spearhead.  He was okay in SA. Did well in NZ in patches.
