At least this way our cricketers are earning a decent money (more than decent actually). IPL has been revolutionary in the sense that it has made cricket a genuine career option for the middle and lower middle class people. Parents are actually pushing their kids to take up cricket as a career and not just forcing them to mug up for their 10 or 12th exams and become a doctor or engineer.
