Mad respect for Jaffer and big kudos to the board too. He was injured earlier and was paid full amount, and later when they needed his services, he had this mutual understand and told them he will play for free.

Jaffer is a domestic legend and we nee such players to guide through the youngsters in Ranji.

Doesn't make sense. Why would he do that?

You need to read the numerous articles.

Many times when a playe ris injured, they are not paid, yet he was paid. So he did remember to do that and offered them his services for free.

He was kind enough to Vidarbha since they took care of him earlier when he wasn't playing and yet was paid in full amount.

Because he wanted to finish the mentoring job that he started and felt invested enough for it? And can afford to do it since he's financially comfortable.

May even have economic benefits for him down the road, if it leads to him getting full-time coaching opportunities once he retires from FC.

Paid what? I thought BCCI covers payments during injury. Not sure which portion of the total payments are done during injuries.

This has been policy for many years or so I guess. Is this limited only for international cricketers?

“In October I was unavailable due to injury so they didn’t pay, which was fair. But in January, I was fit to play but they didn’t use my services (for limited-overs tournaments) but they respected my contract and paid me the full amount. I wanted to return the favour and called them (to say) I would play for free this season. It worked out well for both sides.”

Apparently they paid him what was mentioned in contract?

How is not taking money this time morally high unless VCA decided to pay more than what was he entitled to get last time? If they did pay him higher, then it's good. If it was same as what was in contract, then it doesn't make sense.

What is he talking about? If my employer pays me full amount during sick leaves, it would be sign of greed if I take full salary next month or would it be a really high class stuff if I didn't take salary next month from a corporate house?

No injury cover for domestics, its a travesty, they get injured playing the game but do not have paid sick leaves. ? and he still gets paid because of goodness of the board ( lol its their *ing duty to pay him) and then he does not take fees now to repay that ( and the board accepted).

lol unorganised village f's.

If that's the case then it's certainly great gesture from both sides
