The only slam he failed to win was Wimbledon. The reverse of Sampras vis-a-vis Roland Garros. He later won at the All England club vicariously  as a coach of Andy Murray.

 

On Subject,  I stsrted with coffee_anon as a play on Kofi Annon, to create an online anonymous persona. I later changed because of being a typical  Bangalorean and south Indian in spirit, love coffee to death. It rules over all beverages .

Didn’t know that Ramesh Krishnan beat him. Good information. Some how Indian tennis players arent consistent. Even paes used to beat a good player in an odd match but then consistency is missing. I haven’t followed recently how the new Indian players are doing.

I binge watched it long back but left it midway, till that notebook comes into possession of some businessman, as I got busy with personal stuff.

Not getting the time or interest to finish the series now. [emoji53]

Yeah, it slowed down in that part but it picks up again after episode 23, although nothing can match the first 12-15 episodes, those are just epic

Not sure why someone who never won a major on grass would be considered a grass court expert , also coaches don't win a major , the player wins . A coach is part of a backroom team who prepares the player , especially one who worked in a part time capacity.

Even I am saying the same, that he was anything but a grass court specialist. As far as coach role, I said "vicariously" didn't I? It's poetic justice that he was part of it, the only slam he so badly wanted to win!

Apologies to you, wasn't paying attention , I thought I was responding to orginal poster who said he was a grass court specialist

I was reading conn iggulden's wolf of the plains in 2007 when I got registered here...

 

The first part of the trilogy deals with ghenghis khan's youth as temugin/ temujin and Kha'ghan means khan of khans as he is the leader of the mongol khaghanate..

 

I moved on from temujin to Napoleon to Patton to musashi miyamoto and other legendary war strategists, but the name stuck on..
